Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
And we’re back with ‘The Muppets’! I know it’s not been that long since I reviewed a ‘Muppets’ episode but the Christmas break got me off track with seeing and reviewing more episodes on Disney+. Thankfully I’m back on track and I can tell you what I feel about the last three episodes of this 2015-16 series. 🙂
The first of the last three episodes is ‘Little Green Lie’ and it features the return of Kermit’s nephew Robin. Gosh, Robin hasn’t changed much in terms of age. He’s still a little kid as far as I’m concerned. I think his voice might’ve changed a bit since it’s not the same voice actor who is playing Robin here.
In the episode, Robin comes to visit at a time when his parents are getting a divorce. Not sure I’ve seen his parents before in any other ‘Muppets’-related show or film. Anyway, Kermit struggles to keep his terminated relationship with Miss Piggy a secret and Miss Piggy helps along to that benefit.
I like how it gets unravelled once Robin finds out that Kermit and Miss Piggy aren’t together anymore. It’s sweetly handled and Miss Piggy isn’t as ‘explosive’ as you might expect with this sensitive relationship-handling for Robin’s benefit. Kermit and Miss Piggy could also be rekindled. 🙂
Meanwhile, Rizzo and Pepe are struggling with the fact that Camilla the Chicken, Gonzo’s girlfriend, have moved into their house. Gonzo is mostly absent in the activities they do. Rizzo and Pepe look for a new ‘wingman’ and they put Sam the Eagle, Big Mean Carl and Chip through some tests at Rowlf’s Tavern.
Lara Spencer guest stars as herself in the episode and she ends up going out with either Sam; Big Mean Carl or Chip as part of Rizzo and Pepe’s tests. Thankfully, Gonzo is allowed to join her friends Rizzo and Pepe at Camilla’s approval and the Muppet writing trio are back together in the tavern. 🙂
‘Little Green Lie’ is certainly a better episode than the previous episode ‘Got Silk?’ Maybe I was wrong about the series going downhill by this point. Maybe the next two episodes of the series will be very good. I’m looking forward to finding out as I watch the rest of ‘The Muppets’ series.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
