Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s 40 years since Nyssa debuted in ‘Doctor Who’ in ‘The Keeper of Traken’ on the 31st of January 1981. To celebrate the occasion, check out my reviews on the stories featuring Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’ both on TV and in Big Finish audio on my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ page. I have my favourite stories featuring Nyssa.
As well as ‘The Keeper of Traken’, I love Nyssa stories like ‘Black Orchid’, ‘Primeval’, ‘Spare Parts’, ‘Circular Time’, ‘The Stockbridge Trilogy’ (‘Castle of Fear’, ‘The Eternal Summer’ and ‘Plague of the Daleks’), ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’, ‘1001 Nights’ and ‘1963: Fanfare For The Common Men’. Each story features great performances by Sarah Sutton who plays Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’.
Also check out my ‘Fifth Doctor’ stories featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy which are a labour of love for me from enjoying the TV and Big Finish audio stories featuring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa. There are some great Fifth Doctor stories by me to enjoy on my blog.
The stories I highly recommend checking out include ‘The Railway of Time’, ‘The Space Hotel’, ‘Doom of the Daleks’, ‘The Tree of Riverloth’ (which is a sequel to ‘The Keeper of Traken’) ‘Dawn of the Dwaxi’, ‘City of Monsters’, ‘The Prime Factor’, etc. I’ve also written some stories for the Divergent Wordsmiths featuring Nyssa including ‘Psychic Image’, ‘The Crimson Lion’ and ‘Into the Death-Space’.

I’m very lucky to have met Sarah Sutton at conventions over the years as well as Peter Davison. Sarah is a very dear friend to me at conventions and Nyssa has made a big impact on me in terms of watching the ‘Doctor Who’ TV show and listening to the Big Finish audios, which I’m very thankful for.
There will be a brand-new ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season coming soon to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ from December 2021 to January 2022. I’m looking forward to checking out the sixth ‘War Master’ CD box set featuring Nyssa called ‘Killing Time’. I also hope to share an upcoming eight-part anthology featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy called ‘The Coins of Deno’ very soon to my blog.
