Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Easter is currently underway! I’m still waiting for my vaccines to protect myself against the coronavirus – please keep safe – but I’m thankful many people, including my parents and some of my friends, have received their first dose or both doses of the vaccine. It’s a long process to get back to normality, but I’m willing to be patient.
As many of us wait for our vaccines to combat against Covid-19, let me share with you what’s currently on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and what I’ll be sharing on my blog in April and beyond. There are quite a number of things to look forward to in terms of reviews, blog posts, etc, and I’m looking forward to sharing them on ‘BB’.
Like I said, we’re currently celebrating Easter this weekend. I’ve started off celebrating Easter already with a video announcement about a new ‘Doctor Who’ movie being produced if you want to check it out. 😀 I’ve also shared a quick review on ‘The Easter Story’ book from 1997 in my Good Friday post for 2021. I’ll be sharing an Easter Sunday blog post very soon.
For the whole of March, I shared my ‘March of the Thirteenth Doctor’ marathon of links to my reviews on many Thirteenth Doctor stories in ‘Doctor Who’. For April this year, there are upcoming reviews on many ‘Doctor Who’ stories. These include reviews on ‘The Darksmith Legacy’ book series featuring the Tenth Doctor, which is currently underway as part of my 2021 Easter review season. There are also upcoming reviews looking into the ‘Doctor Who’/’Mr. Men’ book ‘Dr. Sixth’ and Big Finish items like ‘The Flying Dutchman’/‘Displaced’ with the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Hex, ‘The Tenth Doctor and River Song’ box set, the ‘Masterful’ collection of stories celebrating 50 years of the Master in ‘Doctor Who’, and the ‘Short Trips: Zodiac’ collection.
Things have been slow in terms of me uploading ‘The Coins of Deno’ featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy as part of my ‘Fifth Doctor’ series of ‘Doctor Who’ stories. But I’m happy to be on my way to finishing uploading the first episode of the eight-part anthology. Hopefully I’ll pick up the pace in future weeks during April and beyond. I also hope ‘The Coins of Deno’ will be released on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in one of the summer months of 2021.
I’m currently enjoying revisiting Season 8 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jon Pertwee on Blu-ray and have been updating my reviews on the five stories in March. I’ll be sharing my updated reviews on Season 8 of ‘Doctor Who’ in the Spring Bank Holiday week, starting from the end of May leading into June itself. Stay tuned! 🙂
I’ve received my copies of the Target novelizations of ‘Doctor Who and the Pirate Planet’, ‘The TV Movie’, ‘Dalek’, ‘The Crimson Horror’ and ‘The Witchfinders’. I also have the audiobook versions of the novelizations on Audible. I will soon be getting onto reading and hearing the Target novelizations/audiobooks of these ‘Doctor Who’ stories very soon. In the meantime, check out my quick review on the sampler book ‘Doctor Who and the Library of Time’.
I’ve recently shared my ‘convention memories’ on the ‘Big Blue Box 2’ convention in Tunbridge Wells from March 2013. I’ll soon be sharing my ‘convention memories’ on the ‘celebrate 50 – The Peter Davison Years’ event in Chiswick, London from April 2013 very soon. More ‘convention memories’ blog posts are on their way later this year. 😀
I’m happy to report that I’ve heard the recent ‘Star Cops’ audios by Big Finish. These include ‘The Stuff of Life’ audiobook read by Trevor Cooper and the two ‘Mars’ box sets starring David Calder, Trevor Cooper, Linda Newton, Rahkee Thakrar and Philip Olivier. I’ll be sharing my reviews on these ‘Star Cops’ audios week by week throughout April.
In terms of the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’, I’ve seen all nine episodes of ‘WandaVision’ on Disney+ with the series finale reviewed recently on my blog. I’ve already seen and reviewed the first two episodes of the new ‘MCU’ series ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ and am currently looking forward to watching and reviewing the next four episodes on Disney+.
I’m currently watching Series 7 of ‘Call the Midwife’ on DVD. I’m aiming to watch all of Series 7, 8 and 9 before getting onto Series 10 when it comes out. Whether I’ll watch Series 10 on TV or DVD is yet to be determined, but it’s likely I’ll watch it on DVD. I’ll soon be sharing new reviews on ‘Great British Car Journeys’ with Peter Davison and Christopher Timothy and I’m currently enjoying revisiting Series 1 of the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series on DVD. I’ve also shared a quick review on the crime drama series ‘Rosemary & Thyme’ starring Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris.
In terms of recent movie reviews, I saw films on Disney+ like ‘The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men’, the 1954 film ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ and ‘Flora & Ulysses’. I’ve also seen the new ‘Tom & Jerry’ movie via Google Play. I’m waiting for Zack Synder’s new ‘Justice League’ film to be released on Google Play so that I can rent the film and watch it on the home computer. I’m also looking forward to when ‘Cruella’, ‘Black Widow’ and ‘Luna’ will be released soon on Disney+.
Very soon, the Judy Garland Film Review Season will begin in April. This will look into four musical films starring Judy Garland including ‘Easter Parade’, ‘Presenting Lily Mars’, ‘Summer Stock’ and 1954’s ‘A Star is Born’. Check out my Revisiting Judy Garland post to discover films featuring Judy Garland that have already been reviewed on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. My parents and I have recently started ‘the definite collection’ of Sherlock Holmes films starring Basil Rathbone. My reviews on the 14 films in ‘the definite collection’ will be shared on my blog sometime in one of the summer months. Stay tuned!
There are still a lot of things to sort out in terms of getting out the current pandemic we’re in. I hope things will be more positive as we get closer to the summer months of 2021. I imagine things won’t be quite back to normal by the time we’ve had our vaccines, but hopefully we’re on the right path and I hope I’m keeping you entertained with what I share on my blog. Let’s hope things will be exciting in April and beyond on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. 🙂
Many thanks to everyone who has supported my blog!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
