Quick ‘Monsters At Work’ Review – ‘Meet MIFT’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s talk about the second episode of ‘Monsters At Work’, the latest Disney/Pixar series on Disney+ based on the film ‘Monsters Inc.’ I’m currently enjoying the series. I look forward to each episode. I also appreciate that this series is taken from Tylor Tuskmon’s perspective working at Monsters Inc. 🙂

Mind you, I wish more focus was on Sulley and Mike. I loved those two characters from watching ‘Monsters Inc.’ and ‘Monsters University’. Maybe they’ll be given more focus as the series progresses. In this episode, it’s Tylor second day at work and he’s working with the MIFT team again.

The MIFT team put Tylor through an initiation ceremony, but he’s not very enthusiastic as he’s seeking to be a jokester on the laugh floor. His future with MIFT seems uncertain. Meanwhile, Mike struggles to keep awake when he’s being a jokester working long hours and being a comedy teacher.

The energy crisis also continues to affect Monsters Inc. When Mike entertains a kid in his/her bedroom, a power outage causes the doorway portal to deactivate, trapping Mike in the human world. The MIFT team are on the case and Tylor succeeds in his very first repair job with the team. 🙂

Mike is saved, though he falls asleep heavily after coming out of the kids’ room. Tylor might be finding his place among the MIFT team despite still wanting to learn comedy and be on the laugh floor. Banana Bread, whose real name is Winchester, also resigns from MIFT to become a comedian.

I wonder why Tylor can’t do what Winchester did…oh wait! It’s because he doesn’t know comedy yet and he has to go to Mike’s comedy classes to learn it. Speaking of which, there’s a segment at the episode’s end called ‘Mike’s Comedy Class’ where he sings this song about the dangers of comedy. 🙂

Talking comedy, I’m not sure I’m getting into the humour of these ‘Monsters At Work’ episodes yet compared to what I’ve seen in ‘Monsters Inc.’. Maybe the series will grow on me over time and maybe I’ll find some things to laugh at. At the moment though, I’m finding the comedy quite zany. 😀

The second episode of ‘Monsters At Work’ has been enjoyable to watch. I’m glad there’s a Disney+ series based on ‘Monsters Inc.’ that I can enjoy in the weeks that go by. It’ll be interesting to see how Tylor’s journey will progress. I’m hoping we’ll see more of Sulley and Mike in future episodes. 🙂

Stay tuned for my review on the next episode in the ‘Monsters At Work’ series called The Damaged Room’.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
