Quick ‘Monsters At Work’ Review – ‘The Big Wazowskis’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about the fourth episode of ‘Monsters at Work’, the sequel Disney+ series to ‘Monsters Inc’. I’m really getting into the storylines in each episode of ‘Monsters at Work’. There are also some funny moments to enjoy from seeing this Disney+ series which I have enjoyed watching. 🙂

In the episode, Monster Inc’s annual bowling tournament takes place! Yeah! They have a bowling alley in the workplace! I wish that was in my workplace. Seeing the bowling alley reminds me of going to Hollywood Bowl at the Atlantic Wharf in Cardiff. Goodness, I’m missing those bowling days!

Anyway, Mike gets into a heated bet against his charismatic rival/doppelganger Gary. For a moment, I thought Gary was Mike’s brother, even though he’s blue instead of green. Tylor Tuskmon takes the opportunity to impress Mike and he assembles the MIFT team into a bowling team on Mike’s behalf.

Fritz, Val and ‘Cutter’ become part of Tylor’s team and they’re named ‘the Big Wazowskis’. Unfortunately, Tylor is the only one who can bowl well compared to the others. Thankfully, the MIFT/Big Wazowskis team fumble their way up to the top of the tournament by fortunate accidents.

It was funny when the first team they competed against – the Sliding Slugs – had a slug-like monster who took too long to bowl and it was the next day that he did bowl. I just found that hilarious! Unfortunately, Tylor’s luck on his team winning may run out by the time Gary’s team comes along. 😐

Duncan secretly meets with Tylor to replace MIFT in the final match with more skilled team players. Through a misleading lie, Tylor ends up upsetting Fritz, Val and ‘Cutter’ when they discover he replaced them. Thankfully Tylor is forgiven and Fritz, Val and ‘Cutter’ end up back on his team again.

The skilled bowling players that Duncan hired leave once they learn of Tylor’s selfishness. Duncan is dismayed as Tylor’s team wins via accidental flukes. Duncan’s quite a jerk in this series. Why didn’t he take part in the bowling? The match ends up being a tie, forcing Mike and Gary to share the prize.

They have dinner together when at Harryhausen’s instead of Mike having a Harryhausen meal with Celia. 😦 The episode concludes with a ‘Mike’s Comedy Class’ segment where Mike teaches the class how to deal with hecklers whilst being heckled by Gary. Mike should’ve got tips from Fozzie Bear. 😀

Stay tuned for my review on the next episode in the ‘Monsters at Work’ series called The Cover Up’.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
