Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
I greatly enjoyed the seventh episode of ‘Monsters at Work’ on Disney+! It features the return of a character that was in the original ‘Monsters Inc.’ film. I’m pleased John Ratzenberger returned to voice this character. I can’t imagine anyone else who could voice this character and it fun to see him.
In the episode, Tylor Tuskmon gets the chance to become an official jokester once Mike summons his comedy class to the Laugh Floor in order to help generate power during a heatwave. Tylor however must first help fix the door rails. In his haste, he accidentally gets caught in one door rail. 😐
Tylor ends up through the banishment door that leads to the Himalayas. There, he meets…the Yeti! No, not the ‘Doctor Who’ Yeti! I of course mean the Adorable Snowman rather than the Abominable Snowman from ‘Monsters Inc.’. It was fun to have him back in this series and with his snow cones! 😀
It was intriguing when it gets revealed how Adorable ended up in the Himalayas in the first place. Apparently, he was banished after discovering a letter from Waternoose in regards to the plans for the scream extractor in ‘Monsters Inc.’. It makes senses and it’s satisfying to hear that explanation. 🙂
Val gets Tylor back from the Himalayas, but they accidentally bring Adorable on the return journey, who reminisces on his past at Monsters Inc. Incidentally, John Ratzenberger also voices Tylor’s father Bernard as well as Adorable. Tylor’s father is rather small and different compared to how Tylor looks.
The same can be said for Tylor’s mother in the second episode who’s taller but different. Mind you, Tylor could have been adopted. Everyone becomes afraid of Adorable due to rumours of why he was banished, but thankfully Val finds out from Roze, Roz’s twin sister. Tylor also opens up to Adorable. 🙂
Tylor does lose his chance to become a jokester here, but he does bring Adorable back to Monstropolis where Mike and Sulley formally ‘unbanish’ him and make him the official Monsters Inc. snow cone vendor. Funny, I assumed he would have become another potential jokester at the place. 😐
The episode ends with another ‘Mike’s Comedy Class’ segment where Mike tries to explain the use of a punchline in a joke but his assistant Kaitlyn ruins things when playing the drums. I found this segment really funny as I have played it over and over again. For your enjoyment, here’s the video of it.
Stay tuned for my review on the next episode in the ‘Monsters at Work’ series called ‘Little Monsters’.
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
