Basement News – November 2021

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s my Dad’s birthday today!

“Happy Birthday Dad!”

And as you can see, I’ve updated my ‘Bradley’s Basement’ wallpaper. Check out the image below to see what the wallpaper looks like. Hope you like it. 🙂

We’re now in November and we’re getting close to the end of the year. I’ve had my highlight of 2021, which was of course the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ in October. I had a great time attending that convention and reuniting with people like Sarah Sutton, Peter Davison and Janet Fielding from ‘Doctor Who’. Please feel free to check out my convention report and the sketches performed by the stars, which can be seen on YouTube.

Christmas is fast approaching! I’m getting things ready for December involving a number of Christmas-related items, including my annual ‘Advent Calendar’ which will feature ‘The Lord of the Rings: Comedy Version’. I’ll share more details about the ‘Advent Calendar’ as we get closer to December. So far, I’ve uploaded 4 days of the 24 day advent calendar to be scheduled for December.

Whilst I’m getting things ready for Christmas, let me share with you what will happen in November and beyond on my blog. Bear in mind, this will be my final ‘Basement News’ blog post for the year. There won’t be a ‘Basement News’ blog post for December. I’ll be making up for that in the announcement blog post for my ‘Advent Calendar’ at the end of November.

I’m currently listening to ‘The Lost Resort and Other Stories’ CD box set with Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, George Watkins, Matthew Waterhouse and Nicholas Briggs, in preparation for my upcoming ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2021 to January 2022.  I’ve shared my recent review on ‘The War Master’ story ‘Hearts of Darkness’. I hope to check out ‘The War Master’ story ‘Killing Time’ with Sir Derek Jacobi, Katy Manning and Sarah Sutton in time for my upcoming ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season.

In terms of ‘Doctor Who’ reviews, I’ve recently shared my review on the animation version of ‘The Evil of the Daleks’, starring Patrick Troughton, Frazer Hines and Deborah Watling. I’m looking forward to checking out the upcoming animation version of ‘Galaxy 4’, starring William Hartnell, Maureen O’Brien and Peter Purves when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray later in the year. I’m also looking forward to checking out Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Tom Baker, Lalla Ward and K-9 when it gets released.

I’m continuing to check out the ‘Time Lord Victorious’ series of ‘Doctor Who’ with my latest reviews on ‘The Enemy of My Enemy’, the ‘Daleks!’ YouTube series, ‘All Flesh is Grass’ and ‘The Minds of Magnox’. I’m currently looking forward to sharing my reviews on the rest of the ‘TLV’ series this month, with stories like ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’, ‘Genetics of the Daleks’ and ‘Echoes of Extinction’. I hope to make a start on the ‘Dalek Universe’ stories with Tom Baker and David Tennant very soon as well as the latest ‘Ninth Doctor Adventures’ with Christopher Eccleston by Big Finish.

Series 13 of ‘Doctor Who’ on TV has begun! The first episode of the six-part story called ‘Flux’ was transmitted recently and it was called ‘The Halloween Apocalypse’. I enjoyed the episode with Jodie Whittaker back as the Thirteenth Doctor and Mandip Gill back as Yaz, and they’re now joined by John Bishop as Dan. I’m looking forward to seeing the next five episodes of the story, including the second episode ‘War of the Sontarans’, the third episode ‘Once, Upon Time’. and the fourth episode ‘Village of the Angels‘.

As well as sharing my convention report on the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ this year, I’ve also shared my ‘convention memories’ on ‘Dimensions 2013’, which was held at the Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle, back in October 2013. In March 2022, I’ll be sharing my ‘convention memories’ on the ‘Cardiff Film and Comic Con’, which was held at the Motorpoint Arena in March 2014. I hope to share more ‘convention memories’ as well as attend more conventions in 2022.

I’ve recently shared reviews on Sarah Sutton’s favourite films including ‘Ratatouille’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. I’ve also re-shared my reviews on the ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Marc before checking out ‘The Lost Resort and Other Stories’, including ‘Tartarus’, ‘Interstitial’, ‘Feast of Fear’, ‘Warzone’, ‘Conversion’, ‘Time Apart’, ‘Thin Time’ and ‘Madquake’. I’ve currently uploading the seventh episode of ‘The Coins of Deno’ in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series to my blog. It’s been a slow process, but I hope to share the complete eight episode anthology in January 2022, in time for the Fifth Doctor’s 40th anniversary in ‘Doctor Who’.

In October, I saw the second half of Series 2 of the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series on Channel 5. I shared reviews on the last three episodes of the season. I’m currently looking forward to the 2021 Christmas Special of new the ‘All Creatures’ show in December. I’ve also enjoyed checking out the last three episodes in Series 6 of ‘Grantchester’ and I’m looking forward to seeing Series 7 in 2022.

I’ve also recently shared my reviews on Series 3 of ‘Downton Abbey’ and the Christmas Special ‘A Journey to the Highlands’. I hope to check out every ‘Downton Abbey’ episode in time for the second ‘Downton Abbey’ film, due to be released in March 2022. I’ve also shared my latest reviews on Series 10 of ‘Call the Midwife’. I’m currently looking forward to checking out the upcoming 2021 Christmas Special and Series 11 of ‘Call the Midwife’ in 2022.

The latest movies I’ve seen at the cinema are ‘No Time to Die’ and ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’. I’m hoping to see the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film called ‘Eternals’ this month and I hope to see ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ in December. I’ve also shared a review on ‘Tom and Jerry: Robin Hood and his Merry House’, which I purchased on DVD recently from my weekend in Bedford.

I’ve revisited ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogies on Blu-ray in time for my ‘LOTR: Comedy Version’-styled ‘Advent Calendar’ for this year. Once I’ve uploaded the ‘LOTR: Comedy Version’-styled ‘Advent Calendar’ in December and after finishing preparing my ‘Nyssa Challenge’-mini review season, I hope to make a start on revisiting ‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC radio series and updating my reviews on the three volumes ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’, ‘The Two Towers’ and ‘The Return of the King’.

In terms of Disney+, I’ve shared reviews on ‘Muppets Haunted Mansion’, ‘Greyfrairs Bobby’, ‘Three Men and a Baby’, ‘Three Men and a Little Lady’, three ‘Simpsons’-related reviews, ‘The Country Bears’, ‘National Treasure’ and ‘National Treasure: Book of Secrets’. I’m currently enjoying ‘The Orville’, a ‘Star Trek’-styled sci-fi comedy-drama series which is available on Disney+. I’m looking forward to checking out the upcoming MCU series ‘Hawkeye’ on Disney+ from November to December this year. I’ve also seen the trailer for the ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, coming soon to Disney+ in December. I’ve also shared my review on the ‘Stingray’ TV series, which I’ve been watching lately on Britbox this year.

Regarding upcoming Christmas reviews, I’ll be sharing my reviews on the four ‘Nativity’ films, featuring actors like Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Martin Clunes, Catherine Tate and Helen George. I’m sure I’ll have some quick Christmas reviews to share from watching stuff on Disney+. I hope to share reviews on ‘The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special’ and ‘LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales’ as well as the upcoming ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’ film.

October did turn out to be an exciting month for me, thanks to the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ I attended. I hope November and December will also be exciting months in 2021. There are still Covid-19 pandemic restrictions to abide by, but I’m hoping they won’t impede much in terms of what I want to share on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. In the meantime, I hope to still keep you entertained in the run-up to Christmas. There’s still so much to look forward to for the rest of 2021 and hopefully in the early months of 2022.

In the meantime, please continue to keep safe!

Stay tuned! Hope to share a news update at the end of November in time before the 2021 ‘Advent Calendar’ begins. 😀

Thanks again to everyone who keeps supporting my blog!

Many thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
