Well, 2021 is coming to an end! And it astounds me that we still have to abide by certain Covid-19 pandemic regulations. 😦 I’m still using the tagline ‘please keep safe’ on my blog; we still have to wear facemasks in public; and there are still occasions where we’re having to do social distancing. 😐

Before we finish 2021, let me share with you my thoughts on the first episode of the new ‘Star Wars’ series on Disney+ called ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, which was announced at the end of Season 2 of ‘The Mandalorian’. Since I enjoyed ‘The Mandalorian’, it makes sense to check out Boba Fett’s show.

It’s New Year’s Eve today and at last! We have ‘The Lost Resort and Other Stories’, the CD box set of ‘Doctor Who’ audios by Big Finish featuring the final three adventures of the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Marc, starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding and George Watkins. I’m pleased these three audio adventures were released in 2021 and that I’m able to review them for the 2021-22 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season on my blog.

After checking out ‘Encanto’ on Disney+, I decided to check out the short film called ‘Far From The Tree’, which accompanied ‘Encanto’. I assume ‘Far From The Tree’ was shown before ‘Encanto’ was shown at cinemas back in November. I found this a very decent 2D animated CGI short film to watch.

Last year, I saw the Disney/Pixar film called ‘Soul’, which was released via Disney+ on Christmas Day 2020. This year, I saw the film called ‘Encanto’, which was initially released for a short period of time at cinemas in November 2021 before it was soon re-released via Disney+ on Christmas Eve in 2021. 🙂

I’m currently checking out the ‘Sherlock’ BBC TV series with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman on Blu-ray. I can’t say I’m enjoying the particular series as much as others have enjoyed it and I’ll be sharing my detailed reviews on each of the episodes in the TV series to explain why that is.

On Boxing Day this year, I saw the first two episodes of ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ with David Tennant. I greatly enjoyed the first two episodes. Hopefully I’ll get into more of the TV series as we move in 2022. So far, it’s had a good impression on me in terms of a period drama adventure series.

It’s time to revisit ‘1963: Fanfare For The Common Men’, which was originally released back in September 2013 to celebrate 50 years of ‘Doctor Who’.

I was lucky in being able to see ‘The Larkins at Christmas’ on Christmas Day itself! 🙂 I was afraid I might miss it, as it clashed with the timing for the 2021 Christmas Special of ‘Call the Midwife’ on BBC One. Thankfully I was pretty lucky to see ‘The Larkins at Christmas’ on a repeat channel for ITV1.
