Last Christmas, I received the Season 17 Blu-ray box set of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker. It’s time to check out the six stories featured in that season, as I’ve updated my reviews on them. Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ stars Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Lalla Ward as Romana and K-9 (voiced by David Brierley).
We begin Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ by checking out the first story called ‘Destiny of the Daleks’, where the Doctor and Romana visit Skaro and they face the Daleks, Davros and the Movellans. It was nice to check out this story in its enhanced 5.1. surround sound audio option and its CGI effects option on Blu-ray. I also enjoyed the ‘Return to Skaro’ making-of documentary with brand-new behind-the-scenes cast and crew interviews, and I enjoyed the ‘Behind the Sofa’ item on ‘Destiny of the Daleks’, featuring Colin Baker, Matthew Waterhouse, Katy Manning, Nicola Bryant, visual effects designer Mat Irvine, costume designer June Hudson and director Graeme Harper.
