Basement News – August 2022

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s that time again to share another ‘Basement News’ blog post. I’ve been pretty busy lately with making some preparations for the upcoming 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ as well as doing reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’ stories, movies and TV shows. Hopefully, I’ll be sharing a preview of what those reviews are going to be like in this blog post.

There hasn’t been any more news of Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton attending more conventions in the UK lately, but I’m hoping they’ll attend another convention soon. I’m looking forward to a little holiday break in Amroth sometime in September. In the meantime, let’s talk about what’s been happening on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ lately and what will happen in August and for the rest of 2022.

There has been a lack of ‘Doctor Who’ reviews on my blog lately, but I’m currently working on updating my reviews on Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Colin Baker based on the latest Blu-ray box set release. I’m hoping to share these updated reviews sometime in September. I also hope to check out the ‘Out of Time’ audio trilogy of ‘Doctor Who’ stories by Big Finish sometime soon.

I’ve been working on my latest short story for the ‘A Sparkle with Doctors’ anthology by the Divergent Wordsmiths, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy. The submission window for ‘A Sparkle with Doctors’ is currently open if you wish to submit a story for the anthology. I’m hoping to make a start on writing my 60th anniversary special of ‘Doctor Who’ for ‘Bradley’s Basement’ soon.

Recently at the cinema, I’ve enjoyed revisiting the two ‘Doctor Who’ movies with Peter Cushing, including ‘Dr. Who and the Daleks’ and ‘Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.’. Sadly, we lost David Warner, Bernard Cribbins and Nichelle Nichols, who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting at conventions and I’ve enjoyed them in the various film and TV productions they’ve been in, including ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Star Trek’.

I’m continuing to share updated reviews on the ‘Spider-Man’ movies in the build-up to sharing a brand-new review on ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which I’m hoping to make a start on soon. I’ve recently shared my updated reviews on ‘Spider-Man 3’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. There are also updated reviews on ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ that feature Spider-Man in them.

I’ve recently shared a quick review on the BBC sitcom series ‘Sorry!’ starring Ronnie Corbett, which I’ve enjoyed watching for my birthday lately, thanks to my best mate from school Stephen. I’m still watching ‘The Incredible Hulk’ TV series on DVD and I’m enjoying it very much. I’m currently in the middle of Season 2 and I hope to share a quick review on ‘The Incredible Hulk’ TV series sometime soon before I get onto ‘The Incredible Hulk’ TV movies.

I’ve been checking out the two ‘Railway Children’ movies, including the 1970 ‘Railway Children’ film on Prime Video and the latest ‘Railway Children Return’ film at the cinema. I’ve also enjoyed watching ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ at the cinema. I’m hoping to catch up on the latest ‘MCU’ shows that I haven’t seen on Disney+ yet sometime soon.

In terms of movies I’ve seen on Disney+ lately, I’ve seen 2021’s ‘Nightmare Alley’, 1951’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’, ‘Catch that Kid’ or ‘Mission Without Permission’ and ‘Camp Nowhere’. I’m hoping to share a review on ‘That Darn Cat!’ soon. I’m currently watching Season 2 of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ on Prime Video. Hopefully, I’ll be sharing a quick summary on the season soon.

I’ve also been revisiting the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series on DVD and have shared brand-new reviews on the 2020 Christmas Special and the Series 2 episodes. I’m looking forward to when Series 3 of the new ‘All Creatures’ series comes out on Channel 5, though I’ll probably provide a summary on Series 3 rather than review each of the episodes in the season.

There is a lot to think about in terms of reviews and preparing for special occasions like the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ 60th anniversary. I’m hoping I’ll be back on track to review more ‘Doctor Who’ stories, including the Big Finish audios, as well as share reviews on the movies that I enjoy watching. There’s also a review on the third ‘Star Trek: Prometheus’ book for me to do. Hopefully all will turn out well in the end. 🙂

In the meantime, thanks again for continuing to support my blog and please continue to keep safe!

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
