Quick Trailer Thoughts – ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Specials

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Since there isn’t a Christmas nor a New Year’s Day Special of ‘Doctor Who’ for 2022 and 2023, I thought I might as well share my thoughts on the teaser trailer that dropped on Christmas Day on the ‘Doctor Who’ YouTube channel. This is for the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Specials.

So, essentially, this is an extension of the teaser that was shown after ‘The Power of the Doctor’ ended back in October. I can’t say there’s a lot to get from this teaser trailer, apart from a few items to signify that it’s the 60th anniversary coming up, but I’m still looking forward to November 2023. 🙂

It’s nice to see Catherine Tate as Donna Noble in the teaser trailer as well as David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble. I know the Doctor says again that if Donna Noble remembers him, ‘she will die’, but I imagine a way will be found around to resolve the issue. 🙂

I wish Bernard Cribbins was in the teaser trailer, but still, it’ll be nice to see him as Wilfred Mott in the 60th Anniversary Specials themselves. I don’t know what to make of Neil Patrick Harris and who he’ll play in the specials. Nor do I know what to make of Yasmin Finney playing someone called Rose.

Interestingly, Beep the Meep from the ‘Doctor Who Magazine’ comics will appear in the 60th anniversary specials as well as the Wrarth Warriors. I don’t know much about Beep the Meep. I haven’t checked out ‘Doctor Who and the Star Beast’ yet, both in comic form and its audio adaptation.

I have reviewed ‘Star Beast II’ though. 😀 And of course, Ncuti Gatwa will appear as the Fifteenth Doctor at some point in the 60th anniversary specials. Like him, I don’t know what’s going on and how things will be explained in terms of what the specials will be about, but it should be interesting.

The teaser trailer for the upcoming 60th anniversary specials of ‘Doctor Who’ was nice to check out on Christmas Day. I can’t say I’m that excited yet, since I don’t know what will happen in 2023. Maybe it’s my current 60th anniversary special ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’ clouding my mind about this.

Regardless, I look forward to what will happen when the specials get shown in November 2023.

In the meantime, see you in the New Year.

Thanks for watching and reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
