‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Planet of Giants’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 2 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series begins with the three-part adventure called ‘Planet of Giants’, starring William Hartnell as the First Doctor, William Russell as Ian, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara and Carole Ann Ford as Susan. Can our TARDIS heroes survive the menaces that await them when they’ve been shrunk down to size? You can watch the three-part story either on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my current review for ‘Planet of Giants’. Stay tuned for my updated Blu-ray review on ‘Planet of Giants’ coming soon to ‘Bradley’s Basement’.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

    Hi Tim.

I’ve been enjoying your 60th anniversary marathon so far. I of course hope to review all of the first two seasons of ‘Doctor Who’. I’ll definitely watch ‘An Unearthly Child’ and ‘The Daleks’ before any other story. After which, I might watch Seasons 1 and 2 concurrently. I know that’s probably not the best way to do it, but I don’t want to wait to long to start wanting Season 2, especially with it having been released on Blu-Ray. I also still need to finish my review of ‘Castrovalva’, maybe whilst listening to the audiobook of it.

    Take care, WF92.

      Hi WF92,

I’m pleased you’re enjoying the 60th Anniversary Marathon of ‘Doctor Who’ on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ so far. I’m currently getting more blog posts of the marathon sorted for the rest of 2023. I’ve just prepared Season 10 and I’m about to get onto Season 11 next. This is while I’m revamping ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’ for later in the year. 😀

I’m hoping to revisit Season 2 of ‘Doctor Who’ in its Blu-ray box set soon. I won’t share my updated reviews on the stories in Season 2, since the 60th Anniversary Marathon is still on-going in 2023 and I don’t want to break the pattern. Also, revamping ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’ has taken up quite a bit of my time, so I’ll share updated reviews on Season 2 of ‘Doctor Who’ once that’s sorted. Whether it’ll be in 2023 or 2024 that I’ll share my updated Season 2 reviews is undecided at present.

Many thanks for your comments. I look forward to when you share your ‘Castrovalva’ review soon on your blog.

      Best wishes,

      Tim 🙂
