Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Where are we, in the middle of March? Anyway, it’s time for another ‘Basement News’ blog post. I’ve come to the realization that I probably won’t post ‘Basement News’ blog posts at the start of every month. It’s likely they’ll be posted in the middle of a month, especially since I’ve got plenty to be getting on with, what with sharing and uploading items and reviews to my blog.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about what’s been happening lately on my blog and what will happen in March and beyond. The 60th anniversary celebrations of ‘Doctor Who’ are ongoing, as I’m currently sharing my reviews on the Jon Pertwee/Third Doctor era via the 60th Anniversary Marathon on my blog. My revisit of the Patrick Troughton/Second Doctor era from ‘The Power of the Daleks’ to ‘The War Games’ is complete. I’ve also shared summaries on Seasons 5 and 6 and have done a reflection on the Second Doctor era. There are also summaries on Seasons 7 and 8.
To close off the Second Doctor era, I’ve shared my review on the Big Finish audio story ‘The Dying Light’, which is the second instalment of ‘The Quadrigger Stoyn Trilogy’, starring Frazer Hines, Wendy Padbury and Terry Molloy. I will soon be sharing a review on the Big Finish audio story ‘The Doll of Death’ to close off the Third Doctor era and I’ll be sharing reviews on ‘The Nest Cottage Chronicles’ starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor at around Easter time.
Regarding the upcoming 60th anniversary special of ‘Doctor Who’ by me called ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’, I’m currently uploading each chapter of the story to my blog with help from others. I’m still aiming to share the story at the end of September this year. I also hope to share a full-length Eighth Doctor adventure by me and my best mate Stephen Buckley sometime soon as well as a special Short Trip anthology of ‘Doctor Who’ stories. Stay tuned!
I shared my latest ‘convention memories’ in March, which were about me attending the ‘Valiant 2015’ convention in Sheffield in March 2015. I’m looking forward to sharing my last two ‘convention memories’ blog posts in July and August this year. There’s still no news of me attending a convention where Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton will be guests there, but I’m hoping there’ll be a convention where I’ll see them again and hopefully where I can celebrate 60 years of ‘Doctor Who’ with them.
I’ve shared a quick review on one of the latest ‘Tom and Jerry’ films called ‘Cowboy Up!’. There’s another recent film called ‘Snowman’s Land’, which I hope to check out and review later in the year at Christmas time. I’ve also seen ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ at the cinema. In fact, I’ve seen the film twice and regard it highly, despite the reviews it’s received. I’m looking forward to checking out ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ next at the cinema.
In terms of Disney+, I shared a Disney+ Roundup of reviews on three movies, including ‘The Book Thief’, ‘Big’ & ‘Splash’. ‘Big’ and ‘Splash’ feature Tom Hanks as the main lead. I’m hoping to share another Disney+ Roundup of reviews soon and I’m hoping to watch more Disney+ shows like ‘Ms. Marvel’ (which I’ve seen the first episode of) as well as ‘Star Wars’ shows like ‘Andor’ and Season 3 of ‘The Orville’. I’ve yet to see Season 3 of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ on Prime Video. 😀
Quite recently, I’ve been helping Critical Penguin on YouTube with sharing the 14-part ‘Soldiers of Love’ audio series online as videos. I’ve been sending him the audio tracks and photos of the first three ‘SOL’ episodes, including ‘Genesis’, ‘Deathtraps’ and ‘Metamorphs’, which he’s put together as YouTube videos for viewers/listeners to enjoy. I’m looking forward to when he shares more ‘SOL’ episodes on YouTube like ‘Ominous Passage’ and ‘Planet of Death’.
I’ve finished seeing Series 12 of ‘Call the Midwife’ and have shared my thoughts on it as a season overall. I’m sure there’ll be more ‘Call the Midwife’ episodes to check out, including an upcoming Christmas Special in December as well as Series 13 in 2024. I’m looking forward to when Series 8 of ‘Grantchester’ starts on TV. I don’t know when it will start, but it’s likely it’ll be in April. 😀
I’m currently on Season 4 of the TV series ‘Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman’, which I had for Christmas last year on DVD. I’ve greatly enjoyed watching the TV series so far and I hope to share a review on it soon. I’m guessing that I will finish ‘Lois & Clark’ in April at around Easter time. I know I’m behind on checking out Season 2 of ‘Superman and Lois’, but hopefully I will check it out soon.
I can’t say that 2023 has been that exciting for me so far, despite me doing the 60th Anniversary Marathon of ‘Doctor Who’ as well as currently uploading ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’ to my blog. It’s down to the lack of conventions for me to look forward to and hoping that Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison will be guests at one of them. Regardless, I hope to keep you entertained and hope you’ll enjoy the things I share on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ to celebrate 60 years of ‘Doctor Who’.
Thanks again for your continuing support and please keep on keeping safe!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
