Movie Review – ‘Emil and the Detectives’ (1964)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Once again, my parents and I watched another film on Disney+ – the 1964 film adaptation of ‘Emil and the Detectives’, which is based on the book by the German author called Erich Kästner. 2021 is turning out to be a year of home cinema with Disney+ for me and my parents. Not that I mind that. 🙂 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

On my birthday this year, I saw ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ (affectionately known as ‘the Synder Cut’) which I purchased on Amazon Prime Video. This was my birthday cinema movie at home to match to the likes of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘The Three Caballeros’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Last Friday, I saw a childhood classic Disney film I hadn’t seen in a long time. I watched it on VHS in the 1990s and revisited ‘The Three Calablleros’, a 1944 film, on Disney+. It stars Donald Duck with two bird friends – the cigar-smoking parrot José Carioca and the pistol-packing rooster Panchito Pistoles. Continue reading

Quick Trailer Thoughts – ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Just thought I’d share a few quick thoughts on what I make of the new movie trailer for ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, the upcoming sequel to the 2018 film ‘Venom’, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage. I found the trailer utterly BONKERS!!! 😀 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Miss Peregine’s Home for Peculiar Children’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

On the last day of April, my parents and I saw the film ‘Miss Peregine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ on Disney+. This was a 2016 fantasy film released by 20th Century Fox and it was directed by Tim Burton. The film is based on a 2011 novel of the same name (which I haven’t read) by Ramson Riggs. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘The Moon-Spinners’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My Mum is into her spy-thriller action movies and TV shows such as the ‘Mission: Impossible’ film series with Tom Cruise and ‘The Saint’ TV series with Sir Roger Moore. Is there a film on Disney+ that could satisfy my Mum’s taste in that kind of genre? Well, apparently there is and a good one at that.

DVD Review – ‘A Star is Born’ (1954)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to the fourth and final instalment of this year’s ‘Judy Garland Film Review Season’!

To conclude this film review season, I’m tackling the 1954 film ‘A Star is Born’, starring Judy Garland and James Mason. This is considered one of Judy Garland’s best works in film and is an epic classic. It’s also one out of four films made under the same name, though I haven’t seen the other three films yet. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘High School Musical’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Yes! You’re seeing this right! I’ve seen the movie ‘High School Musical’! It’s ironic to be talking about this movie. For a while, I wasn’t particularly interested in seeing it. It’s clearly had a fan-base since its release on the Disney Channel in 2006. I’m amazed by how much of an impact it’s had pretty lately. Continue reading
