It’s time to share the last set of ‘convention memories’ I have for 2014. This was a special treat for me, as I got to attend a little convention, also called a sci-fi fair, in Fareham in December 2014 run by the organiser called the Timeless Collectors or the Sci-Fi South Collectors. I got to see Sarah Sutton before Christmas that year, which was very exciting. 🙂

I know I said I was holding back on this comic con after attending ‘Collectormania 27’ in Birmingham back in September. But after seeing Jodie Whittaker (the Thirteenth Doctor) and David Tennant (the Tenth Doctor and now the Fourteenth Doctor) in the ‘Doctor Who’ BBC Centenary Special called ‘The Power of the Doctor’, I had to go to this event before 2022 was over. I’m pleased I did.

My best mate from school, Stephen, fancied a trip to Birmingham. Once I told him that Jodie Whittaker (the Thirteenth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’) was going to attend ‘Collectormania 27 – Film & Comic Con Birmingham’ at the NEC, Birmingham in September 2022, we agreed to meet up there. 🙂

And yes! I’ve seen Season 2 of ‘Star Trek: Picard’! Since I saw Season 1 of ‘Picard’ back in 2020, it’s only fair that I check out Season 2 on Prime Video. I didn’t know what to expect when it came to checking out Season 2 of ‘Picard’, but hoped I would enjoy it and find it a season worthy of my time.

We’ve come to the end of the ‘Star Trek: Prometheus’ book/audio trilogy, as we look at the third and final instalment called ‘In the Heart of Chaos’ by Bernd Perplies and Christian Humberg. The Big Finish audiobook is read by Alec Newman. Does this ‘Star Trek’ book/audio trilogy end on a satisfactory note or did it become a disappointment for me?

Nichelle Nichols (1932-2022)

I’m saddened to share the news that Nichelle Nichols, who played Lt. Uhura in the original ‘Star Trek’ TV series, has passed away. I enjoyed her in the original ‘Star Trek’ series as well as the six ‘Star Trek’ films featuring the original series cast. My memories of her as Lt. Uhura are very happy ones. 🙂

David Warner (1941-2022)

I’m saddened to hear the news that David Warner has passed away. I feel lucky to have met him at conventions and I’ve enjoyed him in many film and TV productions over the years. I’ve had many nice chats with David. I will always take away the happy memories of seeing David at conventions. 🙂

It’s time to check out the second book/audiobook of the ‘Star Trek: Prometheus’ trilogy. The second book is called ‘The Root of All Rage’ by Bernd Perplies and Christian Humberg and the audiobook is read by Alec Newman. It’s a shame there doesn’t seem to be more ‘Star Trek’ audio productions by Big Finish lately.

I’ve finished checking out Season 1 of ‘Star Trek: Voyager’! It’s taken me a while, but I’m pleased to have revisited all 15 episodes of the season. ‘Voyager’ is a series set in the 24th century where the crew of the starship Voyager are sent 7,000 light years from their home in the Alpha Quadrant to the Delta Quadrant.

I’ve recently checked out the first in a trilogy of ‘Star Trek’ novels/audiobooks called ‘Star Trek: Prometheus’. The first ‘Prometheus’ book/audio is called ‘Fire with Fire’ by Bernd Perplies and Christian Humberg, and the audiobook is read by Alec Newman. The ‘Prometheus’ audiobooks are the closest thing to have in terms of Big Finish audios of ‘Star Trek’.
