Welcome to the ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ page on ‘Bradley’s Basement’!
I make it a tradition to watch ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ in the month leading up to Christmas.
‘Jeeves & Wooster’ is one of my favourite TV comedy drama shows, starring Stephen Fry as Jeeves and Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster. This duo has been fun to watch. It was a refreshing change from seeing ‘Laurel & Hardy’. It took time, but I greatly enjoyed seeing the master-valet double act for this series.
The TV series is based on the original novels and short stories by P.G. Wodehouse, who created ‘Jeeves & Wooster’. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are both fans of Wodehouse and have captured the essence of the characters well. They bounce off each other well in this 1920s/1930s period comedy.
The re-mastered 2011 DVD release of ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ is an 8-disc DVD set. It contains all four complete seasons of the ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ TV series. Discs 1 and 2 contain Series One; Discs 3 and 4 contain Series Two; Discs 5 and 6 contain Series Three and Discs 7 and 8 contain Series Four.
Here on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, I’ve added my reviews on the four seasons of ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. I hope to add reviews on the ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ radio series, starring Richard Briers and Michael Horden. I also hope to add reviews on the actual books by P.G. Wodehouse.
The ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ TV series is something you’re bound to enjoy. It’s full of whimsical humour and gripping plots in each episode of the series. If you’re looking for relaxation and enjoyment of nostalgia set in the 1920s/1930s historical period, this is the one for you especially in its complete DVD box set.
Don’t miss out on this! Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are brilliant!
