The Stories Of Our Torchwood Heroes

This is an episode for all ‘Torchwood’ fans. It is the penultimate episode of Series 2 by Chris Chibnall. It contains four stories on how Jack, Toshiko, Owen and Ianto had joined Torchwood in the first place.

In Jack’s story, Jack comes to Cardiff during the 1890s looking for the Doctor. He’s viciously coerced to work for Torchwood Cardiff in Victorian times and he must wait for a hundred years to find the Doctor.

In Tosh’s story, Toshiko acts as a double agent in order to save her mum. But Tosh gets imprisoned for life until Jack comes along to take her out so long as she works for Torchwood. A very intriguing origin!

In Ianto’s story, Ianto tracks down Jack and asks to work for him following his work for Torchwood London. Jack refuses at first, but he gradually helps Ianto with capturing a pterodactyl that’s in Cardiff.

In Owen’s story, Owen loses her fiancé Katie through Torchwood when she dies from an alien inside her brain. Owen agrees to work for Torchwood with Captain Jack since he wishes to rescue more lives.

The episode ends on a cliff-hanger with James Marsters as Captain John Hart returning. He threatens to tear Jack’s world apart after having found his brother Gray. The scene gets set for a dramatic climax.

The DVD special features on this episode in ‘The Complete Series 2’ of ‘Torchwood’ are as follows. On Disc 5, there’s the ‘Torchwood Declassified’ episode ‘Clean Slate’.
