‘Doctor Who’ is a TV show that has lasted for over 50 years. Our favourite Time Lord – The Doctor – has had a many friends travelling with him/her in the TARDIS. But it’s not just companions he/she’s had on TV. He/she’s also had companions from the Big Finish audios; books; comics and many other things.
Here on this page is an index of all the Doctor’s companions that have travelled with him/her from William Hartnell to Jodie Whittaker. Click on the links of each of the Doctors’ companions to their timelines.

Thought I’d drop you a line to let you know how much I appreciate these timelines. The Doctor, and Companion timelines are extremely well done, and very useful! I have referred to them several times for my own interest. The work you do on these is brilliant, Tim, and I know many people will appreciate it.
I like that you’ve added pictures of Evelyn, Chris, Roz and others in the audio world, as well. Really makes them feel like we know them so well.

Thanks for your kind words and very glad you enjoy my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines. As you probably gathered, I’ve been recovering most of what I almost lost from the deceased Big Finish forum. I’m glad I managed to save my timelines and put them on here and glad you have found them useful.
I’m hoping to make a start on creating ‘The Monsters Timelines’ Index’ soon and adding my Dalek and Cybermen timelines to this blog site. Thanks very much indeed and glad you like my pics of Evelyn; Chris and Roz for the timelines. Hope to post some more timelines for companions soon.

Hello again Tim.
I am commenting here for two reasons. First, these timelines have been really useful for me. Sarah has often said that she found it easier to follow her character with your timelines and she is right.
Secondly, I thought I would link you an image that features every classic female tv companion (including Nyssa) as well as Rose, the Tenth Doctor and K9 in chibi form. I think the designs are so cute and there is a funny moment in it. Very pleased you find my timelines useful. Many thanks. Also thanks for sharing me the link with the photo in it. Goodness, this takes me back. I remember seeing a photo like that sometime ago either via Google or Facebook. It is an amusing companions picture. That must have been in the heyday of the new TV series when Rose was the latest companion as Martha and Donna aren’t there. Also nice to see Nyssa in the photo along with Tegan, It’s also clear to see that it’s all the female companions since the male companions are excluded.

Like I said, I think the designs of the companions adorable. 🥰 The positions in which they have been drawn are nice as well. Nyssa looks as though she is annoyed with Tegan.
