‘LUNAR LAGOON’

Fuji and the Fifth Doctor
This is a two-part adventure by Steve Parkhouse with artwork by Mick Austin. This story is underwhelming as the Doctor takes a spot of fishing before he meets a Japanese soldier named Fuji. I think these Fifth Doctor comic stories were at their best when most of them were set in Stockbridge.
‘Lunar Lagoon’ is actually a precursor to ‘4-Dimensional Vistas’. The Japanese soldier Fuji was interesting since he thinks World War II is still going on. This story features the first appearance of Gus, a US soldier who becomes a short-time ‘Doctor Who’ companion. I would’ve preferred Fuji instead of Gus.
‘Lunar Lagoon’ rating – 5/10
