Synopsis
The Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan visit Longleat Safari Park. On a safari jeep tour, they see wild animals attacking the tourists. Can Nyssa befriend an alien crimson-coloured lion and help him return home to his pride?

Absolutely brilliant, bloody hell Tim I’m going start calling you John Dorney MK II lol.
Tense, exciting & engaging, cleverly written, Leos was a interesting character & i like how he developed over the story.
Brilliant characterisation of the Doctor, Tegan & especially Nyssa, i could hear Peter, Janet & Sarah speaking these lines & i have no doubt Sarah Sutton would love this short trip.
You never fail to surprise or entertain me, you are truly a amazing Doctor Who writer, love to hear Sarah Sutton narrate this as a Short Trip.

Very pleased you enjoyed ‘The Crimson Lion’. I had fun writing it and I’m glad I was able to submit it for ‘The Paul Spragg ReCollections’ anthology.
I’m glad you enjoyed how Leos developed as a character and that you enjoyed the characterisation of the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan in my story. Amazing that I originally submitted this story to Big Finish back in 2016. I didn’t think it would ever see the light of day.
I hope I’ll get to tell Sarah and share ‘The Crimson Lion’ story with her at a convention next time I see. I’m sure she’ll enjoy it. Sarah gave inspiration to write this story when she mentioned going to Africa on holiday back in 2015.
Did you spot the Billy reference in the story by the way?
Glad you could hear Peter, Janet and Sarah saying the lines I’ve given to the Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa. It’d be nice if this short trip was read by Sarah for an audio by Big Finish. Whether that’ll happen is another matter.

Don’t worry. We’ll get to Billy’s demise when we come to it.
I will say the last two stories featuring Billy in ‘Doctor Who’ will be epic, emotional ones.
