Welcome to the ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ page on ‘Bradley’s Basement’.
This was one of my favourite TV shows from the 1990s. Some have their own version of ‘Transformers’. Some prefer the 1980s cartoon series; some prefer the Michael Bay movies. For me, the ‘Transformers’ of my day were ‘Beast Wars’ featuring the mammal-like Maximals and the insect/reptilian Predacons.
I loved watching the episodes of this fantastic TV series featuring animals transforming into robots. I remember watching these episodes when I was a kid during the school holidays on GMTV (early ITV in the 1990s). I also recall getting the ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ toys when I was a kid. Oh happy days!
The TV show features some brilliant characters and some impressive storylines throughout. I was mad about ‘Beast Wars’ as a kid and I miss my childhood days to bits. I highly recommend this TV series to anyone who is a ‘Transformers’ fan or just wants to watch an action-packed adventure series like this.
I purchased the Region 1 US import DVD box set back in late 2011. It features the complete series and celebrated the TV show’s 15th anniversary. The DVD box set has two volumes. Volume 1 contains the complete Season 1 and Volume 2 contains the complete Seasons 2 and 3 which is pretty amazing for me.
The DVD box-set also contains an episode guide to the entire series of ‘Beast Wars’ from Season 1, 2 to 3. There is also an exclusive ‘Transformers’ comic book that is the ‘Beast Wars’ prequel called ‘Dawn of Future’s Past’. I recommend reading that comic book story before you watch the ‘Beast Wars’ TV series.
The story of ‘Beast Wars’ concerns the Maximals and the Predacons (who are descendants of the Autobots and the Decepticons). They rage their war on prehistoric Earth. The Predacons led by the evil Megatron search for Energon whilst Optimus Primal and his heroic Maximals try to stop them.
On this page, my ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ reviews will be posted on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. The ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ page will include my reviews on the TV episodes as well as the ‘Dawn of Future’s Past’ comic. I’ve no plans to review the ‘Beast Machines: Transformers’ series yet on my blog.
‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ is a TV series that I will never forget in a hurry from my childhood. It was my era of ‘Transformers’ and is one I will always cherish and have fond memories of with great stories and characters. I enjoyed reliving my childhood. I’m certain you will enjoy this series as much as I have.
