‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Terror of the Autons’

After swimming through Season 7, it’s time to check out Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. The first story of Season 8 is ‘Terror of the Autons’, where Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor confronts the Autons and the Nestene Consciousness again. He meets Katy Manning as Jo Grant, his new companion, and he also meets his archenemy, Roger Delgado as the Master. As well as Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier and John Levene as Sergeant Benton, U.N.I.T. is joined by Richard Franklin as Captain Mike Yates. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to Season 7 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 It’s the first season of the 1970s, the first season to be shown in colour on TV, and it’s the first season to feature Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor. We start off Season 7 by taking a look at the four-part adventure ‘Spearhead From Space’. This story also features the return of Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and U.N.I.T. This story also introduces Caroline John as Liz Shaw as well as the monstrous Autons and the Nestene Consciousness. ‘Spearhead From Space’ can be checked out on DVD and Blu-ray as well as on Britbox. I’m currently looking forward to Season 24 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Sylvester McCoy when it comes out soon.
