Over the Easter holidays, my parents and I have been watching the five ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies on Disney+. I’ve greatly enjoyed checking them out, as I’ve been meaning to watch them in 2022. I’m happy to be up-to-date with how the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film series has gone so far. Continue reading

‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC Radio Series UPDATED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

At last! After sharing ‘The Lord of the Rings: Comedy Version’ in my 2021 advent calendar last December, I’ve finished updating my reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC radio series set in the world of Middle-Earth! I’ve enjoyed revisiting this radio series and updating my reviews on the three volumes. The ‘LOTR’ radio series stars Ian Holm as Frodo Baggins, Michael Horden as Gandalf, Robert Stephens as Aragorn, John Le Mesurier as Bilbo Baggins, Peter Woodthorpe as Gollum and Bill Nighy as Samwise Gamgee. Quick DVD Review – ‘Agatha Christie Collection featuring Peter Ustinov’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For Christmas 2020, I gave my Mum a 3-disc DVD set of an ‘Agatha Christie Collection featuring Peter Ustinov’ in his ‘classic role’ as Hercule Poirot. For my Dad, I gave him a Blu-ray edition of 2016’s ‘Pete’s Dragon’. We’ve enjoyed watching these films very much over the Christmas holidays. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Emma.’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I seem to have done quite a few Jane Austen-related reviews lately. Back in November 2019, I shared my review on the BBC 1995 production of ‘Persuasion’. In January 2020, I reviewed ‘Love & Friendship’ based on the novella ‘Lady Susan’. Now I’ve seen the 2020 film ‘Emma…with a full stop’? Continue reading

At long last, I get to revisit the ‘Dad’s Army’ 2016 movie I saw at the cinemas back in February 2016! Is it better than I remember it? Do the good points outweigh the bad points in this film? Well, that’s what I hope to find out as I share with you what I believe is good and bad about this ‘Dad’s Army’ movie. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘Vincent and the Doctor’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This ‘Doctor Who’ episode features Matt Smith’s Doctor and Amy Pond meeting Vincent Van Gogh. The episode is by Richard Curtis, who previously produced ‘The Curse of Fatal Death’. This episode however is not a comedy and it tackles a sensitive subject regarding Vincent Van Gogh and depression. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Pokémon Detective Pikachu’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s talk about ‘Pokémon’! Yes, I watched this as a kid in the late 1990s. I was around when the ‘Pokémon’ Game Boys happened as well as the trading card games. I saw the original anime TV show as a kid. I was there when the ‘Pokémon’ madness happened in late 1990s/early 2000s. Live with it! 😀 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Dad’s Army’ (2016 film)

Hello everyone! 🙂

I’ve had a great time at the cinema seeing the new ‘Dad’s Army’ film! I enjoyed seeing this take on my favourite BBC TV sitcom series. It’s different and it’s not as good as the BBC TV series. But it was worth the entertainment and there were some funny moments to enjoy from the cast in this film. Continue reading
