Season 19 is my favourite season out of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It has my favourite TARDIS team, including Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. Anthony AInley also returns as the Master in two stories of the season. I always enjoy revisiting Season 19 on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. 🙂

Today, we begin the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and we come to my favourite season from the classic TV series – Season 19. To start off, let’s take a look at ‘Castrovalva’, a four-part story by Christopher H. Bidmead. In the story, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor is recovering from his recent regeneration, but he has Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan to help him out. Meanwhile, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric has been captured by Anthony Ainley as the evil Master. ‘Castrovalva’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox.

I’m so excited about revisiting this season on Blu-ray on my blog!
