(groans) ‘Nightmare Alley’. Here we go. I want to stress; I know this film has received a lot of positive reception in terms of critical acclaim. In fact, the film received four nominations at the recent Academy Awards, including Best Picture, though ‘CODA’ actually won the award – good for that film.

I’ve had a chance to check out ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films again, set in the world of Middle-Earth. I’m planning to do a ‘LOTR’-styled Advent Calendar for my blog this year with a comedic edge to it. I also hope to make a start on updating my reviews on the ‘LOTR’ radio series once I’ve sorted out my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews for this year. And welcome everyone to the final week of this year’s ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Review Season’!

And here we are on what is arguably considered to be the unusual ending for ‘Phase Three: Part One’ in the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ movie series. This is ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, the third film in the ‘Thor’ trilogy so far as well as the last ‘MCU’ film that was shown in 2017. Yeah ‘Phase Three: Part One’ covered two years of ‘MCU’ movies at the cinema whilst the second half covered the next two.

Who am I to argue? ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is one of the best movie trilogies ever made in the history of cinema. It’s well-directed by Peter Jackson, with strong characters and amazing worlds in Middle-Earth, based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Without a doubt, it’s the most successful of film trilogies.

But if you haven’t, this is to let you know that I’ve finished revisiting ‘The Hobbit’ film trilogy by updating my review for the third film, ‘The Battle of the Five Armies’, with new photos and extended paragraphs. I’m looking forward to revisiting ‘The Lord of the Rings’ next, especially through the Blu-ray editions.
