Yesterday, my parents and I went to see the concert, ‘Shake That Thing’ (or ‘The Great British Swing-Dance Show’) at the Taliesin in Swansea. Tony Jacobs was there with his Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, the Swing Time Jivers, the Little Tunes Dixieland Band and special guest singer Catherine Sykes from the Glenn Miller UK Orchestra. Yesterday, my parents and I saw ‘The Glenn Miller Orchestra’ at St David’s Hall in Cardiff! I enjoyed the concert very much as I love the music of Glenn Miller! The concert was directed by Ray McVay and there was plenty of music to enjoy that was both Glenn Miller and sometimes not Glenn Miller. Continue reading →
In April 2016, I attended the ‘30th Festival of Jazz, Swing and Cabaret’ at Richardson’s South Downs Holiday Village. Last weekend in October 2016, my parents and I had another enjoyable weekend at the ‘32nd Festival of Big Band Swing, Hot Jazz and Cabaret’ held at the same venue with Tony Jacobs. Continue reading →
I’ve had a nice weekend in Chichester with my parents. We attended the ‘30th Festival of Jazz, Swing and Cabaret’ at Richardson’s South Downs Holiday Village with Tony Jacobs.
