‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Arc of Infinity’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to begin the second season of Peter Davison’s era as the Fifth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ as well as the season celebrating the 20th anniversary of the TV show – Season 20. We begin with ‘Arc of Infinity’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne where Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa end up on Gallifrey. They contend with the return of Omega from ‘The Three Doctors’ and soon head for Amsterdam on Earth where they reunite with Janet Fielding as Tegan. This story also features Colin Baker (before he became the Sixth Doctor) as Commander Maxil, the head of Time Lord security on Gallifrey. ‘Arc of Infinity’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Get your remotes ready! It’s MJTV time! 😀

Yes! It’s MJTV time again! 😀 Back in 2018, I did an Easter review season on the audio series ‘Soldiers of Love’, produced by MJTV (Mark James Thompson Visuals). Sadly, the MJTV website doesn’t exist anymore, and there isn’t a way to purchase the 14-part audio series online, both physically and digitally. 😦 Thankfully, Critical Penguin has come to the rescue! 🙂 Continue reading

‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ Reviews

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, so why not? 😀 To commemorate the day that I first met Sarah Sutton at the ‘Fifth Element’ event back in February 2010, I’ve decided to review ‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ by Gary Downie, which was originally published back in 1985. This has been a treat of a ‘Doctor Who’ book to review. 🙂 Continue reading

Audio Reviews – ‘Time Wake & Other Stories’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For today’s instalment of the 2022-23 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, we’re checking out the six ‘Doctor Who’ annual stories featured in the ‘Time Wake & Other Stories’ audio collection. I’ve recently listened to the stories featured in ‘Time Wake & Other Stories’ via download on Audible. The story of interest to me is called ‘Night Flight to Nowhere’, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan. I previously reviewed ‘Night Flight to Nowhere’ in the 1983 ‘Doctor Who Annual’ back in 2019. Continue reading

Convention Memories – ‘Timeless Collectors’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to share the last set of ‘convention memories’ I have for 2014. This was a special treat for me, as I got to attend a little convention, also called a sci-fi fair, in Fareham in December 2014 run by the organiser called the Timeless Collectors or the Sci-Fi South Collectors. I got to see Sarah Sutton before Christmas that year, which was very exciting. 🙂 Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to come to an end with Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Colin Baker. Today, we look at the sixth and final story in Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Revelation of the Daleks’, featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. They come up against Terry Molloy who returns as Davros as well as his creations, the Daleks, at Tranquil Repose on the planet Necros. They also come up against a superb guest cast of characters in the story. Continue reading

Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Colin Baker on Blu-ray #5

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We come now to what I consider to be the weakest story in Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Timelash’. It’s been nice to revisit this ‘Doctor Who’ story in the Season 22 Blu-ray box set, featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. They’re joined by Paul Darrow (of ‘Blake’s 7’ fame) as the villainous Tekker and the TARDIS duo also confront the monstrous Borad, played by Robert Ashby. Continue reading

This mini-episode is available to watch in the Season 22 Blu-ray box set of ‘Doctor Who’ and contains a brand-new edit. Continue reading

Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Colin Baker on Blu-ray #4

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story from the Colin Baker era. It was also the first story for me to experience Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. We continue our look into Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with ‘The Two Doctors’, a multi-Doctor story featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. There’s also Frazer Hines as Jamie who accompanies Patrick Troughton’s Doctor as well as Nicola Bryant as Peri who accompanies Colin Baker’s Doctor. Continue reading
