It’s time for us to conclude our look into ‘The Nest Cottage Chronicles’ of ‘Doctor Who’. Today, we finish off this BBC audio series of Fourth Doctor adventures with the fifth and final story of the ‘Serpent Crest’ saga called ‘Survivors In Space’. This story stars Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Susan Jameson as Mrs. Wibbsey and Richard Franklin as Mike Yates. There’s also Cornelius Garrett as Reverend Tonge, David Troughton as the Visitor, Nerys Hughes as Deirdre, Joanna Tope as Tish, Sam Hoare as Lucius, and Paddy Wallace as the Tsar. Continue reading

It’s time to talk about the first of the Peladon stories in ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘The Curse of Peladon’. This four-part story has Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant visiting the planet Peladon, where they encounter Ice Warriors, Alpha Centauri and David Troughton as King Peladon. 😀 ‘The Curse of Peladon’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Here’s another one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Patrick Troughton era! 🙂 This is ‘The Invasion’, an epic eight-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe face the Cybermen again. They also confront Kevin Stoney as the villainous Tobias Vaughn and they’re joined by Nicholas Courtney, who is promoted as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and is the leader of U.N.I.T., a new taskforce tackling alien invasions of Earth. Two missing episodes of ‘The Invasion’ have been animated for DVD. ‘The Invasion’ is currently available to check out on DVD and on Britbox. Continue reading

For a while, this six-part ‘Doctor Who’ TV adventure was missing from the BBC Archives. In October 2013, it was found and can be enjoyed by every ‘Doctor Who’ fan watching it on DVD and via Britbox. ‘The Enemy of the World’ stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and as the villainous Salamander. This story also stars Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. This is also the first ‘Doctor Who’ story to be directed by Barry Letts. Continue reading
