This is another ‘Doctor Who’ story from the Patrick Troughton era that is sadly missing from the BBC Archives. The six-part story has been animated in its entirety to be enjoyed on DVD and Blu-ray and can also be viewed on Britbox. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. This story also happens to be the last regular appearance of Deborah Watling as a ‘Doctor Who’ companion in the series.

We’re now on the last of the pure historical ‘Doctor Who’ adventures from the 1960s. It’s time for ‘The Highlanders’, a four-part adventure where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Anneke Wills as Polly and Michael Craze as Ben find themselves in 18th century Scotland. They meet a band of Highlanders and one of them happens to be Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon, who becomes the Second Doctor’s new companion in the story. 🙂 ‘The Highlanders’ can be enjoyed on audio CD or as a download from Audible.

I’ve at last seen the animation version of the ‘Doctor Who’ story called ‘Fury From The Deep’, which was released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2020. ‘Fury From The Deep’ is the penultimate story of Season 5 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It also features the final regular appearance of Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield.
