‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Time Monster’

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’ve come to the end of Season 9 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. And we get to go to Atlantis…again. Um, didn’t we visit Atlantis in ‘The Underwater Menace’? 😀 Anyway, this is ‘The Time Monster’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. Roger Delgado also makes another return as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ adventure. ‘The Time Monster’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. The story will soon be re-released in the Season 9 Blu-ray box set, so watch out for that. 😀

I’ve updated my reviews on each of the episodes featured in the five seasons, including the Christmas Specials, with some extra new thoughts and some brand-new photos. I hope to do a brand-new in-depth review on the prequel ‘Young Hyacinth’ sometime soon.

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to take another look at ‘Arc of Infinity’, one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan, starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding. At last! I’ve finished reviewing the original ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ TV series, starring Robert Hardy, Christopher Timothy, Peter Davison and Lynda Bellingham. I’ve just reviewed Series 7 as well as the 1990 Christmas Special called ‘Brotherly Love’. It hasn’t been a great season, but I enjoyed it. 🙂
