I’ve had a chance to check out ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films again, set in the world of Middle-Earth. I’m planning to do a ‘LOTR’-styled Advent Calendar for my blog this year with a comedic edge to it. I also hope to make a start on updating my reviews on the ‘LOTR’ radio series once I’ve sorted out my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews for this year. I also hope to see the new ‘LOTR’ TV series on Amazon Prime Video soon.

It’s time to take a look at the film featuring both the original cast from the ‘X-Men’ trilogy and the new cast from ‘X-Men: First Class’. It’s time for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, directed by Bryan Singer and starring Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.

We move away from prequels territory as we take a look at a film set after ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’. It’s time to take a look at ‘The Wolverine’, the second film in the Wolverine trilogy of ‘X-Men’ films. The first Wolverine film was ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’. ‘The Wolverine’ was released in 2013 and is directed by James Mangold. It stars Hugh Jackman back as Logan/Wolverine and he’s joined by Hiroyuki Sanada, Famke Janssen and Will Yun Lee.

Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry lead the cast as they’re joined by Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Kelsey Grammer, James Marsden, Rebecca Romjin, Shawn Ashmore, Vinnie Jones and Patrick Stewart.

Who am I to argue? ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is one of the best movie trilogies ever made in the history of cinema. It’s well-directed by Peter Jackson, with strong characters and amazing worlds in Middle-Earth, based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Without a doubt, it’s the most successful of film trilogies.
