We’ve come to the end of Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series as well as the end of the Jon Pertwee era. Season 11 concludes in the six-part adventure called ‘Planet of the Spiders’. As well as Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, this story also features Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. There are also giant spiders featured in this story. Is one of them Shelob from ‘The Lord of the Rings’? 😀 ‘Planet of the Spiders’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox.

It’s New Year’s Eve today and it’s time to revisit one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ audio anthologies from Big Finish. This is ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa. This audio anthology was released in December 2010. I’m very pleased to be revisiting ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’ for ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2022 to January 2023.
