It’s time to check out my absolute favourite Fourth Doctor/Tom Baker era ‘Doctor Who’ story. Here we are on ‘City of Death’, a four-part story by ‘David Agnew’ (pseudonym for David Fisher, Douglas Adams and Graham Williams). This is the second story in the classic TV series of ‘Doctor Who’, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Lalla Ward as Romana. There are also special guest stars like Julian Glover, Catherine Schell, Tom Chadbon, David Graham, Peter Halliday, John Cleese and Eleanor Bron. ‘City of Death’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

It’s time to have another venture into history with ‘Doctor Who’, as the First Doctor TARDIS team end up in 12th Century Palestine. There, King Richard the Lionheart engages in a holy war with the Saracen leader Saladin. The story features special guest stars Julian Glover as King Richard and Jean Marsh as his sister Joanna. Sadly, only the first and third episodes of this four-part story have survived in the BBC Archives. You can check out the first and third episodes of ‘The Crusade’ in the ‘Lost In Time’ DVD collection, in the Season 2 Blu-ray box set, and/or Britbox. You can also enjoy the entire four-part story on audio CD or as a download from Audible.

This is where it all started before the prequels trilogy, the sequels trilogy and Disney+ shows like ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ happened. 🙂

We continue checking out Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Tom Baker by taking a look at the second story in the season called ‘City of Death’. This is my second favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire series (the first of course being ‘Black Orchid’). The story has Paris in 1979; Julian Glover as the villain; a cameo of John Cleese and Eleanor Bron; and an enjoyable comedy-drama plot by Douglas Adams, based on the ideas by David Fisher.

This was one of the happiest conventions I attended, since it was close to home. 🙂

The 2016 Christmas Special of ‘Grantchester’ has the distinction of being the only ‘Grantchester’ Christmas Special to be made so far. Unlike ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘Doctor Who’ where they would regularly make festive episodes every year, ‘Grantchester’ hasn’t done that many Christmas Specials.

Princess Leia has stolen the plans for the Death Star! The Galactic Empire chase after her! Darth Vader leads the chase! She gets captured! But we’ve ‘A New Hope’! Two droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO go down to Tatooine! They meet Luke Skywalker! They also meet Obi-Wan Kenobi – now an old man!!!

Well, I had an amazing, exciting time last weekend at the ‘York Unleashed’ event (also known as ‘York Unleashed the Third’) at the York Racecourse in York itself! This was ‘York’s Own Comic-Con’ and they’ve been having it for a few years now! I greatly enjoyed attending and seeing what’s there!
