Here we are on my favourite story out of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for us to check out ‘The Keeper of Traken’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. It also introduces us to my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion – Sarah Sutton as Nyssa of Traken. This story also features the Melkur, voiced by Geoffrey Beevers and we’re introduced to Anthony Ainley as Tremas, Nyssa’s father. ‘The Keeper of Traken’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

This story was released in September 2008, and it happens to be Katy Manning’s first return to play Jo Grant in ‘Doctor Who’.

This is also where we say goodbye to the lovely Katy Manning as the equally lovely Jo Grant, as she makes her last regular appearance in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is ‘The Green Death’, a six-part adventure. As well as Katy Manning as Jo, there’s also Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. ‘The Green Death’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

We conclude the ‘Dalek War’ saga in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series today by looking at ‘Planet of the Daleks’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. The story takes us to the planet Spiridon, where the Third Doctor and Jo team up with a group of Thals, as they try to stop an army of Daleks under a frozen mountain from being woken up. ‘Planet of the Daleks’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

Roger Delgado also makes his last and sadly final appearance as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ story. As well as Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, we have the return of Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and William Hartnell as the First Doctor. There’s also Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. The four-part story also features Stephen Thorne as Omega. ‘The Three Doctors’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

Whilst he’s still exiled to Earth by the Time Lords, Jon Pertwee’s Doctor gets the chance to go off-world a bit more compared to Season 8. In Season 9, he and Katy Manning’s Jo have two adventures on alien worlds. 🙂

We’ve come to the end of Season 9 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. And we get to go to Atlantis…again. Um, didn’t we visit Atlantis in ‘The Underwater Menace’? 😀 Anyway, this is ‘The Time Monster’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. Roger Delgado also makes another return as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ adventure. ‘The Time Monster’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. The story will soon be re-released in the Season 9 Blu-ray box set, so watch out for that. 😀
