This is a ‘Doctor Who’ TV episode I have mixed feelings about. In ‘The Haunting of Villa Diodati’, the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz meet Mary Shelley for the first time. This story would’ve been fine if I hadn’t heard the Big Finish audios featuring Paul McGann’s Eighth Doctor and Mary Shelley to spoil my enjoyment.

Unlike ‘Press Play’ where the Thirteenth Doctor saw a holographic message of Susan in the TARDIS, this is where Jodie’s Doctor actually meets Susan following ‘The Dalek Invasion of Earth’.

We begin what is arguably the ‘shadow’ trilogy in the ‘Adventures in Lockdown’ anthology with the first story being ‘The Shadow Passes’ by Paul Cornell. This features the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz in ‘isolation’. It was surreal to find the contrasts of real-life and fiction in this little story.
