It’s the fifth and final story of Season 12 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. We end Tom Baker’s first season of ‘Doctor Who’ by taking a look at ‘Revenge of the Cybermen’, a four-part adventure. As well as Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, there’s also Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Ian Marter as Harry Sullivan. This story has the Cybermen visiting the planet Voga, which is the planet of gold. ‘Revenge of the Cybermen’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

We come now to what I consider to be the weakest story in Season 22 of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘Timelash’. It’s been nice to revisit this ‘Doctor Who’ story in the Season 22 Blu-ray box set, featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. They’re joined by Paul Darrow (of ‘Blake’s 7’ fame) as the villainous Tekker and the TARDIS duo also confront the monstrous Borad, played by Robert Ashby.

This is the first ‘Doctor Who’ story by writer Philip Martin and it introduces the character of Sil, played by Nabil Shaban. This ‘Doctor Who’ story has divided opinion on whether it’s nice or whether it’s nasty. 😀

The season stars Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri with special guest stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and Frazer Hines as Jamie in ‘The Two Doctors’ (I’ll be sharing my updated review on that particular ‘Doctor Who’ story this coming Thursday).

This ‘Doctor Who’ adventure has drug-smuggling and the monstrous Mandrels in it.

We continue checking out Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Tom Baker by taking a look at the second story in the season called ‘City of Death’. This is my second favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire series (the first of course being ‘Black Orchid’). The story has Paris in 1979; Julian Glover as the villain; a cameo of John Cleese and Eleanor Bron; and an enjoyable comedy-drama plot by Douglas Adams, based on the ideas by David Fisher.
