It’s time for one of the most exciting ‘Doctor Who’ adventures ever made in the First Doctor era called ‘The Chase’. The Daleks return to chase the First Doctor TARDIS team throughout time and space! This story also features the last appearances of William Russell as Ian and Jacqueline Hill as Barbara. It also features the first appearance of Peter Purves as new companion Steven (although Peter plays Mortin Dill in the third episode and plays Steven in the sixth and final episode of this story). You can watch ‘The Chase’ either on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox.

We now look at the five-episode ‘Daleks!’ mini-series, which was broadcast on the official ‘Doctor Who’ YouTube channel from November to December 2020. The ‘Daleks!’ series takes place before the events of ‘Defender of the Daleks’ and ‘The Enemy of My Enemy’ and features Nicholas Briggs as the voice of the Daleks who is joined by the vocal talents of Joe Sugg, Anjli Mohindra and Ayesha Antoine.

As many of us are still coping with the situation of the coronavirus – please keep safe – here’s my review on the Target novelization/audiobook of ‘The Chase’ by John Peel. ‘The Chase’ is one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the William Hartnell era. I’m pleased I’ve read/heard the story in novelization/audiobook form at last.
