‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Caves of Androzani’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 21 isn’t over yet, but it’s time for the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ to come to an end. It’s time for ‘The Caves of Androzani’, a four-part story by Robert Holmes. This is rated as possibly the best ‘Doctor Who’ story ever made in the entire TV series. Is this something I agree with? In the story, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri visit the planet Androzani Minor, where they step into some raw spectrox and start to die from it. Can the Fifth Doctor save Peri in time from the poisonous effects of the deadly spectrox? There are some special guest cameos of Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric, Kamelion, voiced by Gerald Flood, and Anthony Ainley as the Master in the story. ‘The Caves of Androzani’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Quick DVD Box Set Review – ‘The Musketeers’

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s funny how I seem to keep coming back to ‘The Three Musketeers’ by Alexandra Dumas every year. In 2021, I reviewed the 1993 film and in 2022, I reviewed the 2011 film. Both films I saw on Disney+. I’ve just finished checking out the BBC TV series ‘The Musketeers’, based on the 1844 novel. Continue reading

Back with the TV series of ‘Doctor Who’ and we’re checking out ‘Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror’. The Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz meet Nikola Tesla and the world is under attack by scorpion-like creatures that almost resemble the Racnoss. Can the Doctor and Tesla’s alike minds work together to defeat this episode’s menace? Continue reading

TV Review – ‘Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror’ (Doctor Who)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Okay, so whilst I found ‘Orphan 55’ a mess of an episode, it was still a pretty enjoyable mess. Would things get better by the time I watched the next episode. Well, I’m happy to say…yes! Yes they did! I greatly enjoyed ‘Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror’ since it was really gripping pseudo-historical adventure. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to return to ‘The World of Jane Austen’ today! I’ve added my latest DVD review on the 1995 BBC TV production of ‘Persuasion’, starring Amanda Root and Ciarán Hinds. ‘Persuasion’ is my Mum’s favourite Jane Austen story and she likes the 1995 TV production of the story very much. Movie Review – ‘The Aeronauts’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve seen the film ‘The Aeronauts’ starring Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne at the cinema. This was my Dad’s birthday present film for 2019. He greatly enjoyed it! I greatly enjoyed it too! So did my Mum! It was worth going to see and it felt like a proper adventure film inspired by true events in 1862. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is what I gave my Mum on her birthday this year!

My parents and I have finished seeing ‘Sink or Swim’, the BBC sitcom series starring Peter Davison and Robert Glenister. This was made in the early 1980s during the time Peter Davison did ‘Doctor Who’. He starred in ‘Sink or Swim’ and ‘Holding the Fort’ whilst also playing the Fifth Doctor. Continue reading
