Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Tom Baker era and it was the first Fourth Doctor TV story I checked out on DVD in 2006. It’s a well-loved classic. This is ‘Genesis of the Daleks’, a six-part story starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Ian Marter as Harry Sullivan. As well as the Daleks, this story also introduces us to their creator Davros, played by Michael Wisher. ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.

I was happy to get the ‘Doctor Who – The Collection’ DVD from the 40th anniversary issue of ‘Doctor Who Magazine’ back in October 2019! It was worth getting and a joy! It had ‘Doctor Who’ DVD/Blu-ray special features with Sarah Sutton, my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion and best friend at conventions, in them.

It’s the season finale of Season 12 of ‘Doctor Who’ and it has Tom Baker’s Doctor with Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane and Ian Marter as Harry facing the Cybermen. I wouldn’t consider this a great Cybermen story or a very good season finale overall, but this was pretty enjoyable and entertaining.
