‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Black Orchid’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about my absolute favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire TV series. And yes, I know Peter Davison hates this story, but this is one of Sarah Sutton’s favourite stories, so that’s good for me. 😀 It’s time to check out ‘Black Orchid’, a two-part story by Terence Dudley. Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric visit Cranleigh Hall in 1925. The Doctor gets to play a cricket match and Nyssa, Tegan and Adric partake in a fancy dress ball. The story features guest stars like Michael Cochrane, Moray Watson and Barbara Murray. Sarah Sutton also plays Ann Talbot, a double of Nyssa in the story. ‘Black Orchid’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

‘All Creatures Great and Small’ – Christmas Specials (1983–1985) REVIEWED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Christmas time!

Okay, no it isn’t. But I’ve added my two reviews on the two Christmas Specials of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ from 1983 and 1985 to my blog! These are the two final episodes that feature what I consider to be the golden era of ‘All Creatures’. It’s where the series ends for me on a personal level, but I will be watching and reviewing Series 4 next. Continue reading

‘All Creatures Great and Small’ – Series 3 REVIEWED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve finished all of my reviews on Series 3 of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’! This is where it sort of ends for me regarding the original run of ‘All Creatures’ episodes. There are the two Christmas Specials to look forward to, but this is where I feel the series ends for me before it goes downhill. I will be reviewing Series 4-7 after doing the Christmas Specials, but this will not be with the same enthusiasm. Continue reading
