For Christmas Day this year, I’m sharing individual reviews on the seven items featured in ‘The Doctors: The Peter Davison Years’ DVD compilation. This was released in 2020 and has seven ‘Myth Makers’ items by Reeltime Pictures, focusing on the stars who have appeared in the Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’.

Here we are on the last set of ‘Myth Makers’ interviews compilation DVDs that I had for Christmas 2020. This time, it’s ‘The Doctors: The Paul McGann Years’! It’s unusual as Paul McGann had a short TV tenure playing the Eighth Doctor with doing ‘The TV Movie’ in 1996. But of course, a lot has happened since then as Paul has done plenty of Big Finish audios and did ‘The Night of the Doctor’. 🙂

I was looking forward to uncovering the insights made by the people who were involved in the Sixth Doctor era on TV, both on-screen and behind-the-scenes. It was a fascinating DVD release covering a pretty turbulent TV era.

This is a ‘Myth Makers’ DVD compilation I’ve been looking forward to very much. This is ‘The Doctors: The Peter Davison Years’. The Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ is my favourite. You can tell from my ‘Fifth Doctor’ series of stories starring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy as well as my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. I’ve also met a lot of the stars from the Fifth Doctor era!

Here we are on the last ‘Myth Makers’ DVD that I had for my birthday this year! I’ve seen ‘The Doctors: The Sylvester McCoy Years’! This is an intriguing DVD. Unlike the William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker ‘Myth Makers’ DVDs where it featured Doctors and companion interviews; this DVD has interviews with the Seventh Doctor, companions and certain guest stars. 😀

I’m glad I got four ‘Doctors’ DVDs from the ‘Myth Makers’ series for my birthday this year from my parents. I’ve greatly enjoyed ‘The Doctors: The William Hartnell Years’, ‘The Doctors: The Pat Troughton Years’ and recently ‘The Doctors: The Tom Baker Years’. I hope soon I’ll get ‘The Doctors: The Peter Davison Years’ DVD later this year and hopefully more ‘Myth Maker’ interviews on DVD. 🙂

After enjoying ‘The Doctors: The William Hartnell Years’ DVD, I was looking forward to seeing the next ‘Myth Makers’ compilation DVD I had for my birthday this year. I’ve now seen ‘The Doctors: The Pat Troughton Years’! Or should it be ‘The Doctors: The Patrick Troughton Years’? Same thing, I suppose. Anyway, I had a good time watching this 2-disc DVD that featured interviews with the stars.

As I’m currently not going to conventions because of the coronavirus pandemic and with the UK being in lockdown – please keep safe – I’m grateful to my parents that I had four ‘Myth Makers’ DVD compilations of ‘Doctor Who’ interviews for my birthday back in May. They’re a close thing to be at a convention. They may have been done in the 1980s and the 1990s, but they’re enjoyable to watch.
