Last weekend, I saw the latest Disney live-action remake of ‘Pinocchio’, directed by Robert Zemeckis of ‘Back to the Future’ fame and based on the 1940 animated film of the same name. As a kid, I saw the 1955 film ‘The Ladykillers’ with Sir Alec Guinness. I enjoyed that film when I saw it on VHS in the 1990s and it’s nice to revisit it now and again, whether it’d be on TV or on DVD. It’s a black comedy drama film that’s been cherished by many and it’s worthy of being a quaint English film. Continue reading

I’ve seen the movie ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’, starring Tom Hanks, which I rented on my home computer via Google Play. I didn’t know what to expect with this movie, but I greatly enjoyed watching it with my parents. It was a very straight-forward drama film filled with uplifting messages. Continue reading
