‘Junglos 4198’, Part Three, Chapter 11

temple-of-ronzador

11. Ronzador’s Temple

SCENE #94 – EXT – LITHIN, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – NIGHT
Back in Lithin, in the dry clearing underneath the waterfall, Nyssa is woken up by Billy talking in his sleep.

NYSSA
“Billy? Is that you talking?”

As Nyssa wakes and gets up, she rolls over to see Billy’s sleeping next to her.

BILLY (V’O)
(dreamily, panics) “Nyssa? Nyssa, please! Where are you?! Where are you, Nyssa?!”

NYSSA
“I’m right here, Billy! What is it…?” (Pause; realises) “Oh no! He’s dreaming again! I’m hearing his thoughts!”

Nyssa looks to see Billy anxious in his sleep, as she’s hearing his thoughts.

NYSSA
“No! No I…I mustn’t listen! I…I can’t hear this!”

BILLY (V’O)
(dreamily, concerned) “Please, Nyssa! Please!” (Pause) “I…want…I want…”

NYSSA
(apprehensive) “Yes? Go on! What is it you want, Billy?”

BILLY (V’O)
(dreamily; afraid) “You’re ill, Nyssa! That insect’s bitten you! Must get you cured!” (Pause; scared) “No! It’s too late! I can’t save you! I…I’ve let you down, Nyssa! I’ve really let you down!”

NYSSA
(astonished) “Goodness! Is this what he does in his sleep? Dream about me?”

BILLY (V’O)
(dreamily) “Why?! Why haven’t you been nice to me? What have I done to hurt you?!” (panics) “She’s dying! And I can’t save her!” (pleads) “Please! Please Nyssa, let me help you! Don’t push me away!” (Pause) “I’m going to save you!” (panics) “Where are you?! Where are you?! Oh no, Nyssa!”

NYSSA
(anxiously) “Perhaps I should wake him! It’s getting too much for him as it for me!”

BILLY (V’O)
(dreamily) “You…you really stand out for me, Nyssa!” (Pause) “So gentle! So compassionate! You’re the best thing that’s happened to me!” (Pause) “I feel heartbroken! You don’t want me anymore!” (Pause) “I love you Nyssa! I really love you!” (Pause) “I feel now as I might as well give up! Give up loving you!” (Pause) “Yes! That’s what I should do! I must stop!! Give it up!”

NYSSA
(cries) “No! Wake up! Billy, wake up!”

Nyssa shakes Billy to wake him up. He wakes up abruptly, as he lets out a gasp of shock once he’s up.

BILLY
(shocked) “Where am I?! Where am I?!”

NYSSA
(reassuringly) “It’s alright, Billy! You’re with me! In this clearing underneath the waterfall!”

Billy comes to his senses, as he realises where he is and breathes a sigh of relief.

BILLY
(breathes deep) “Sorry, I…um…” (Pause) “Was there something you wanted, Nyssa? You…you woke me!”

NYSSA
“Yes. I’m sorry. I…I was just checking if you were okay.”

BILLY
(bewildered) “Yeah! Yeah, I’m fine!” (Pause) “Thank you.”

Moment of silence.

NYSSA
“You go back to sleep, Billy. I won’t wake you again.”

Billy settles back to lie down on the ground again, as he’s about to go back to sleep with Nyssa watching him.

NYSSA
“Goodnight, Billy.”

BILLY
(sleepily) “Goodnight, Nyssa.”

Nyssa watches over Billy, as he slowly goes back to sleep. She then too settles herself down and reflects on Billy’s dreamy thoughts. She then becomes worried, as the waterfall continues to echo from outside.

NYSSA
(ashamed; to herself) “What have I done?!”

SCENE #95 – EXT – ALESKI, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – NIGHT
In the Gren village of Aleski, Morg and Pike search the place with Lo-Jo, as they find it deserted. They search through all the huts, knocking over pieces of furniture and housing utensils as they look. Lo-Jo looks around the deserted village, whilst Orio the Parrot is perched on his shoulder.

LO-JO
“If this were the open space-way me hearties, I call this village a ghost ship.”

ORIO THE PARROT
(squawks) “Abandon ship! Abandon ship!” (squawks)

Pike and Morg return to Lo-Jo after they’ve finished searching.

PIKE
“There’s nobody about in those huts or anywhere in this village! It’s completely deserted! Those savages must have ditched this place for good!”

MORG
“Seems like we won’t be negotiating with them after all!”

LO-JO
“Perhaps we may encounter them on the way to the next stage of our journey, Mr. Morg!”

MORG
“Maybe; maybe not. But I’m glad of the fact we don’t have to worry about any scrawny spears cutting our throats out.”

PIKE
“Where is our next destination, Lo-Jo?”

Lo-Jo takes out the treasure map and switches it on, activating the hologram to appear.

LO-JO
“We should be making for Ronzador the Great River! There we will find the temple before us and enter it!”

Lo-Jo eventually switches the map off, deactivating the hologram.

ORIO THE PARROT
(squawks) “Shiver me timbers!” (squawks)

PIKE
(shudders) “I don’t fancy going to that kind of place! Reminds me of all those sermons I had to go to in church when I was a young lad!”

MORG
“Well holy or not, that’s where we should go!”

LO-JO
(hushes) “Hush, you two! Be quiet!”

PIKE
“What is it?”

Lo-Jo hushes Morg and Pike again, as a moment of silence ensues.

LO-JO
“I thought I heard something.”

MORG
(bewildered) “I didn’t hear anything.”

Another moment of silence. Suddenly, Lo-Jo takes out his laser pistol and fires it in a far-off direction. This causes Morg and Pike to jump out of their skin.

MORG
“‘Ere! What’s the big idea, Lo-Jo?!”

Lo-Jo fires his laser pistol again, as he shoots at someone. The person cries out in pain from a distance and it turns out to be Antuss, who steps out of the forest and stumbles to the ground.

PIKE
(cries; realises) “It’s one of those savages! He’s been following us!”

LO-JO
(shouts) “Pike! Hold him!”

Pike does so, as he runs over to Antuss and grabs him by holding his arms behind his back. Antuss struggles to break free, whilst Pike is too strong holding him in his grip.

PIKE
(coyly; realises) “Ah! I’ve seen you before! We met in that jungle where you were hurting that boy and girl! We never got a chance to talk!”

ANTUSS
(yells) “Hands off, smelly sailor man!”

PIKE
“And it seems that we still don’t!”

LO-JO
(calls) “Pike! Bring him over here!”

Pike drags Antuss with him, as he takes him back to Lo-Jo and Morg. Just then, Elar-Jom charges out of the forest towards them.

ELAR-JOM
(yells) “No! Let him free, you beasts!”

LO-JO
“Morg! Grab hold of that girl!”

MORG
“Right you are!”

With that, Morg runs over to capture Elar-Jom. Elar-Jom runs off, but Morg manages to grab her by the arms. He holds her very tightly and roughly once he’s caught her. Elar-Jom struggles desperately to break free, but is unable to.

MORG
“I’ve got her, Lo-Jo! I’ve got her!”

ELAR-JOM
(shouts) “Let me go! I am Princess Elar-Jom! Unhand me I say!”

LO-JO
“Bring her over, Morg!”

Morg brings Elar-Jom over to Lo-Jo, whilst Pike brings Antuss to him. Lo-Jo eventually approaches Elar-Jom, whilst she’s determined and struggles to break free from Morg’s grip on her.

LO-JO
“So you’re Elar-Jom, princess of Gren, are you?” (Pause) “Well, you’ll come in very handy! Where are your mother and father, girl? The queen and the king, where are they?”

ELAR-JOM
“Am I expected to know my mum and dad’s whereabouts then?”

LO-JO
(threateningly) “Tell me where they and your people are or I shall have one of my men shoot you!”

ANTUSS
“Don’t tell them anything, Elar-Jom! That’ll get them to destroy us!”

ELAR-JOM
“They’ve obviously left the village as you can see with your dull eyes! Where they’ve gone I don’t know!”

Moment of silence.

LO-JO
“Well I’ll tell you something, your majesty! We’re going to Ronzador, my men and I! And you and your…consort…are coming with us!”

ELAR-JOM
(shouts) “Never!!”

LO-JO
“And if you don’t like it, tough! That way your mother and father will come after us! For I especially would like to see your mother for certain!” (to Morg; Pike) “Me lads? Take them! We head for Ronzador!”

Lo-Jo leads the way with Orio the Parrot perched on his shoulder. Pike takes Antuss and Morg takes Elar-Jom, as they leave the Gren village and head for Ronzador. Elar-Jom and Antuss struggle to break free with the pirates holding them. as they get forced to move through the dark forest.

SCENE #96 – EXT – RONZADOR, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Next morning, the Doctor, Dynda, Jason and Captain Doromir walk alongside the Great River, as they come across the temple of Ronzador. They’re a few metres away from the entrance and they look in awe at the temple before them.

DYNDA
(unconvinced) “Is that it? That’s the Temple of Ronzador?”

DOROMIR
“Why, what’s wrong with it?”

DYNDA
“Oh nothing! Nothing’s wrong with it! I just expected it to be bigger! Larger!”

JASON
“It’s tall, isn’t it?”

DOCTOR
“Perhaps it’s bigger on the inside.”

Moment of silence.

DYNDA
“It seems to be in ruins. There are crumbled pillars and…there are some walls that happen to have collapsed. And the roof’s fallen in. It’s a wonder the door’s able to still stand.”

DOROMIR
“This is the work of the Gren, Miss Dynda. Savages with minds like they have do not appreciate the architecture and significance of wondrous places like these.”

JASON
“I wouldn’t say it was wondrous, Captain. Looks as if this place has been around for quite some time.”

DOCTOR
“I wouldn’t be sure about that, Jason.”

DYNDA
“Why? What do you mean, Doctor?”

DOCTOR
“Oh just…thinking aloud. That’s all. A stray thought in my head letting loose.”

DOROMIR
“Well I would appreciate it Doctor, if you kept your stray thoughts to yourself. We have enough worrying about how to get into the temple than to have your wild theories leaking out.”

DOCTOR
“I don’t think we have to worry about getting in, Captain! The doors seem to be open for us!”

They look to see the front door of the temple already open.

DYNDA
“What?!”

JASON
“He’s right! The front door is open! Perhaps it has been broken in!”

DOCTOR
“Perhaps. Or maybe it’s just somebody who last visited the temple and forgot to shut the temple door before he left.”

DOROMIR
“Well, open or not, we have a quest to do! And we must set forth into that hall of Ronzador and find this…seal…that you spoke of!”

But before they can go any further, they hear wild howls behind them.

JASON
“What’s that?! That sound behind us!”

DYNDA
(thinks) “It sounds like…it sounds like…”

DOCTOR
“Like someone howling very wildly! Someone or…some people charging!”

DOROMIR
(anxiously) “The sound of savages!”

They turn round to see, as Gren savages led by Ja-Ara and Jor-Eliv approach them.

JOR-ELIV
(shouts) “There they are! There are those who are going to destroy our mud!”

JA-ARA
(yells) “STOP THEM!! AND SEE THAT THIS DOCTOR AMONG THEM IS KILLED TOO!”

They howl wildly as the Gren savages charge forwards. The Doctor, Dynda, Jason and Captain Doromir are horrified as they see the hordes of Gren savages approaching them.

DOCTOR
“Err…Captain; Dynda; Jason?” (Pause) “Basically…RUN!!”

The Doctor, Dynda, Jason and Captain Doromir run for it, as they make for the entrance to the temple. They eventually reach the temple doors and are about to go inside. But they are stopped in their tracks, as something pushes them back. They try to enter the temple again, but are still denied entry.

DYNDA
(panics) “What’s happening?! Why can’t we get in?!”

DOROMIR
(angrily) “What in the star blazes is going on here? Those doors are open!”

JASON
“There’s seems to be an invisible wall in front of us! A force-field!”

The Gren savages advance closer as they chant and howl wildly, whilst the Doctor, Dynda, Jason and Doromir are still bewildered at the entrance to the temple.

DYNDA
“We can’t stay here! We have to get in before those savages get us!”

Dynda, Doromir and Jason panic as they wonder what to do, whilst the savages approach. The Doctor meanwhile thinks of coming up with a solution.

DOCTOR
(gradually; cries) “Jason! Your sword Quasarin! Raise it up to the door-arch!”

JASON
“But Doctor…?”

DOCTOR
“Just do as I say!”

DOROMIR
“What do you think you’re playing at, Doctor?!”

DOCTOR
“If my theory’s correct…if Jason raises the sword up to the door-arch, then we’ll be allowed in!” (to Jason) “Do it, Jason!”

Hesitating for a moment, Jason eventually draws his sword out from his sheath. He carefully raises it up to the arch of the temple door. The Gren savages still advance behind them, as they howl ferociously.

JASON
“Right, Doctor! I’ve done it! What do I do now?”

DOCTOR
(to Dynda) “Dynda! Get inside!”

DYNDA
(protests) “We can’t, Doctor! There’s a force field…”

DOCTOR
(interrupts; shouts) “Get inside!”

Taken aback by the Doctor’s demand, Dynda eventually goes forth and enters through the temple door.

DYNDA
(cheers) “I’m inside! I’m actually inside!”

DOCTOR
(cries) “Quick, Jason! Quick, Captain! You get inside now!”

DOROMIR
(astonished) “How did you do that?!”

DOCTOR
(shouts) “Come on! Before they catch us up!”

The Doctor, Doromir and Jason run forward as they step inside the temple. The Gren savages approach, as they come to the temple doors themselves.

JA-ARA
(shouts) “They’re inside! After them!”

But before the Gren savages can get inside, the temple doors immediately closed shut on them. Some of the Gren savages crash into the doors and some get pushed back by the force field. There are howls of rage and anger from the savage hunters, as they try to get themselves into the temple. They have little success.

JA-ARA
(yells) “NO! NO! THEY CAN’T LOCK US OUT!”

JOR-ELIV
“I’m afraid it’s true, Ja-Ara! They’ve locked us out and are in the temple! We have to smash those doors down!”

JA-ARA
(shouts) “Somebody fetch a battering ram to smash the door down! Set a fire! Smash the walls! Kick the doors in! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING, YOU INCOMPETENT BOZOS! AM I A QUEEN OF A GROUP OF SLOBS?!!”

The Gren savages continue attempting to knock the temple doors down, whilst Ja-Ara is in a furious rage.

SCENE #97 – INT – RONZADOR’S TEMPLE – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Inside Ronzador’s Temple, the Doctor, Dynda, Jason and Captain Doromir hear the Gren savages from outside, knocking the doors profusely to get in. Jason holds the sword of Quasarin up to the temple door-arch to keep the doors fully locked.

DOCTOR
(gratified) “Well done, Jason! Good thing you used that sword to shut the doors on them!”

JASON
“Let’s hope this will hold them off before they try to get in!”

DYNDA
“So what do we do now? Do we go on into the temple?”

DOCTOR
“Oh it’s essential, Dynda! Absolutely essential we go on! The computer in Edolas told us to collect some seal! And in order to unlock the doors of Ungol we must have that seal!”

DOROMIR
(suspiciously) “You’re very keen to see that we achieve our quest, Doctor. Or is this some ulterior motive you have to stop us achieving the quest…as was predicted?!”

DOCTOR
“I don’t have to defend myself against you, Doromir. If you can’t use your eyes to look at something, then there’s no point having them to use.”

DOROMIR
“There’s no point in using riddles with me, Doctor. I still suspect your motives in helping us…”

DOCTOR
(interrupts) “On that note, I suggest we move on! Come on, Dynda; Captain; Jason?”

JASON
“But…what about the door, Doctor? We’ll need this sword…”

DOCTOR
(interjects; reassuringly) “Oh the door’s fully locked already, Jason. You don’t have to keep holding your sword up to the temple door-arch, you know.” (insistently) “Come on! Let’s find that seal!”

The Doctor, Doromir and Dynda move on, whilst Jason remains a bit, holding his sword up to the door-arch. He eventually drops his sword to the ground and sheaths by his side again. Jason then turns to follow after the Doctor, whilst the Gren savages keep pounding at the temple doors from outside. It almost seems like the Gren savages are about to break the doors down, but fortunately this doesn’t occur.

SCENE #98 – EXT – LITHIN, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Back at the waterfall of the west, Lithin, Nyssa gradually wakes up after having slept for quite some time. She murmurs as she wakes up. Nyssa slowly comes round, feeling rather dozy and sleepy.

NYSSA
(yawns) “Billy?” (Pause) “Billy?”

Nyssa eventually becomes fully awake, before she realises that Billy is no longer beside her on the ground. She looks around, to check she hasn’t missed him. But Billy has gone.

NYSSA
(anxiously) “Billy? Billy, where are you?”

No response, as Nyssa stands up from the ground and starts to panic.

NYSSA
(panics) “Billy?! Billy, where are you?!”

Running water from the waterfall outside fills the silence for Nyssa.

NYSSA
(panics) “Oh no! He hasn’t left me! He wouldn’t!” (Pause) “What if he really meant what he said…dreamed of last night? I was sure he didn’t!”

Nyssa then walks out into the open air as she looks to find Billy.

NYSSA
(shouts) “Billy?! Billy, come back! Billy, where are you?!”

As Nyssa shouts, Billy then appears as he runs in from the other side, half-naked; draped in his clothes and dripping wet.

BILLY
“Nyssa? What is it? I heard you calling me!”

Nyssa turns to see Billy.

NYSSA
(relieved) “Oh Billy! I thought you’d left me forever!”

Nyssa runs over to Billy and embraces him. Billy is quite bewildered as Nyssa hugs him. He then attempts to ease her off him.

BILLY
“No wait, Nyssa! You were concerned about not wanting me to touch you!”

Nyssa eases off Billy, but still keeps her eyes focused on him.

NYSSA
“Billy, I was so frightened! I thought that you’d left me for good!”

BILLY
“Oh Nyssa! I wouldn’t leave you! I’m sorry I scared you like that! I just didn’t want to wake up when I woke up! And…since there was a waterfall close by…and I hadn’t had a bath in a long while, I thought…well…why not have a shower? You can have one as well you know, Nyssa! The water’s lovely!”

NYSSA
(pleads; anxiously) “Billy, please! Listen to me!” (Pause) “I’m sorry about yesterday! I was cruel to you and I had no right to be! Please forgive me!”

BILLY
(gradually) “Nyssa, there’s nothing to forgive! You were quite in your rights to be anxious and under par.”

NYSSA
(anxiously) “No Billy, it was more than that.” (Pause) “I was so determined to get myself cured before the end of that day. And I didn’t think the Gren would provide that help for me. That was when I got angry with you. Because of all that had happened.”

BILLY
“Well, you were right to be angry with me. Because you were right all along! I should be the one that got sacrificed for having thought the Gren showed mercy! How stupid that was of me to think that!”

NYSSA
“You meant well! It just didn’t turn out the way you hoped!” (Pause) “You’ve been very good looking after me, Billy! And I’m very grateful! I don’t want you to leave me! Please don’t leave me!”

BILLY
(reassuringly) “I’m not going to leave you, Nyssa! Of course I’m not! If you really want me to stay with you…”

NYSSA
“I do! I appreciate your company!”

BILLY
(pleased) “Well, that’s alright then.”

Moment of silence.

BILLY
“How’s your arm by the way?”

Nyssa checks her arm.

NYSSA
(gradually) “It’s still numb. It’s hard to tell whether it’s getting worse or better. I just hope my Trakenite immune systems are helping to delay the infection.”

BILLY
(cheerfully) “Good old Trakenite immune systems of yours.” (Pause) “I’m sorry we missed the Doctor, Nyssa. I would have liked to have got to him, but…I was so afraid for you with those savages around. Really I was!”

NYSSA
“That’s alright. Thank you for saving me from them.”

BILLY
“My pleasure.”

Another moment of silence.

NYSSA
“Did you say…you’ve had a shower?”

BILLY
“Yes. I did, yes. Err…just down there below. Near one of the small showers by that little pool of water.”

NYSSA
(coolly) “Hence why you’re not completely dressed; covered in some of your own clothes and dripping wet!”

BILLY
(embarrassed) “Oh! Err…yes, sorry! I…I heard you shouting…and…didn’t have time to change! I was…”

NYSSA
(reassuringly) “It’s alright, Billy. I understand.” (Pause) “I’d like to have a shower myself. I’ll let you change here whilst I go and have one.”

BILLY
“Yeah. Good idea.”

Another moment of silence.

BILLY
“So…are we talking to each other now? Are we friends again?”

NYSSA
“Yes, of course we are!” (Pause) “Nothing would be please more to know we’re still on talking terms!”

BILLY
“Good.”

Another moment of silence, Nyssa and Billy become intimate with each other. They soon snap out of it, as they realise this.

NYSSA
(clears throat) “Err…shower?”

BILLY
“Yeah.”

Nyssa heads off to where Billy came from for the shower.

BILLY
“Careful on the rocks, Nyssa! They’re rather slippery!”

NYSSA
“Thank you, Billy!”

BILLY
“Enjoy your shower!”

NYSSA
“I intend to.”

Billy watches as Nyssa goes. Once she’s gone, Billy relaxes as he’s about to change into his clothes after having his shower. As he changes, he reflects on his latest conversation with Nyssa.

BILLY (V’O)
(pleased) “She’s forgiven me.” (Pause) “That’s good. I’m really pleased she doesn’t hold a grudge against me.”

Suddenly, Billy lets out a cry of pain as he kneels to the floor, clenching his sides. Billy feels the infection growing worse, as he finds it unbearable.

BILLY
(in pain) “Oh no! Not again!”

As Billy gropes in pain, he doesn’t realise a slimy mud creature slithers by where he is. The slimy mud creature quietly laughs as he watches Billy.

SCENE #99 – INT – RONZADOR’S TEMPLE – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Back at the temple of Ronzador, the Doctor, Captain Doromir, Dynda and Jason enter the temple courtyard. They become awed by the sight they see.

DOROMIR
“Astounding!”

JASON
(excited) “Whoa! This place is huge!”

DYNDA
“Seems as if you were right, Doctor! This temple is big after all when you’re actually in it!”

DOCTOR
“My TARDIS beats top record compared to this place!”

They walk on further, as they stand in the centre of the courtyard. They look up to see the open air and part of the roof collapsed in.

JASON
“It’s left a hole in the roof certainly! A massive hole!”

DOROMIR
“This must have collapsed when savages raided it at one time.”

DOCTOR
“Oh I’m sure there’s a much better reason for it being in this state, Captain Doromir.” (thinks) “This makes me think of something.”

DOROMIR
“The sun shines on our faces! You can feel the sky’s heat as you stand here!”

DYNDA
(impetuously) “Look! I don’t wish to complain, but hadn’t we better get on with what we came for? Finding that seal?”

DOCTOR
“Hmm? Yes of course, Dynda! Find the seal we must!”

They move on further into the courtyard, as they come across a section of the temple in the far corner.

DYNDA
“For all that the temple is in ruins, this seems to be the most undamaged part we’ve seen!”

JASON
“The seal must be in there! In those chests! The computer said it’d be in a chest of some kind!”

DOROMIR
“How do we know what it looks like anyway?”

DOCTOR
“We don’t, Captain. The Edolas computer just said for us to get the Great Seal of Ronzador! It didn’t say anything about what it looked like!”

After a while of contemplating, Doromir then steps forward as he reaches to touch the chests.

DYNDA
“Captain, what are you doing?”

DOCTOR
“Don’t touch, Captain! You’ll end up with rather a shock!”

DOROMIR
“I’d be shocked to know that I’d ever listen to your foul advice, Doctor!”

DOCTOR
“Suit yourself.”

Doromir certainly does as he continues to touch the chest. He is then pushed back to the floor and lands roughly on the cobbled floor. Dynda runs over to help him, whilst Doromir whimpers.

DYNDA
“Are you alright?”

DOROMIR
(whimpers; assuredly) “I’m sure I’ll be alright.” (to Doctor) “Thanks a lot, Doctor! You could have warned me!”

DYNDA
“He did, you idiot!”

Dynda helps Doromir up, whilst the Doctor becomes perturbed.

JASON
“Quasarin! My sword!”

DOCTOR
“It could release the force field as it did before and unlock the chest containing the Great Seal! Perhaps you should try it, Jason!”

JASON
“Right! Hold on a minute.”

Jason draws out his sword from his sheath, as he holds it up onto the set of chests. He edges the blade steadily, as Jason steps forward closer to the chests and finds himself unharmed.

JASON
(enthused) “I think it’s worked! The force-field must be down! I’m going to try and see if I can unlock the chests with my sword.”

DOCTOR
“Good work, Jason. Good work.”

Jason begins to work with Quasarin, as he uses it to unlock the chests.

DOCTOR
(abruptly) “Got it!”

DYNDA
(startled) “What? What is it, Doctor?”

DOCTOR
“I just remembered reading something about the reason why this temple roof had fallen in! Of course! I remember now! It was in the bible! In the book of ‘Ronzador’ itself!”

DOROMIR
(puzzled) “Bible?”

DYNDA
(sighs) “Oh no! Not that book again!”

The Doctor takes out the bible from his coat pocket and opens it. He looks through the bible to see if he can find the book he’s looking for.

DOCTOR
(to himself) “Ronzador? Ronzador? Where is Ronzador?”

The Doctor comes to a stop, as he finds the book he’s looking for.

DOCTOR
“Found Ronzador!” (Pause) “Now the page! Page? Page?”

The Doctor flicks through the pages of the Junglo Bible before he comes to a stop again.

DOCTOR
“Here it is! Found the verse.” (reads) ”Chapter nine says that Ronzador’s temple was in its heyday for sixteen thousand summers where people gathered for feasts and worshipping. It was after those summers that the temple roof came crashing in and the temple was never set foot in again because of it.” (to Doromir; Dynda) “That is…it was never set foot in again until now.”

DYNDA
(shocked) “The roof came crashing in?”

DOROMIR
“For what reason?”

DOCTOR
(gradually) “It doesn’t say. No reason is given as to what caused the roof to collapse.” (Pause) “Now I don’t know about you Captain Doromir; Dynda, but I find that rather disturbing. Not to mention puzzling and baffling, since no-one was able to give an accurate witness to the reason of what caused the temple roof to collapse in the first place. Almost as if it was omitted purposefully.”

Pondering on this, Doromir and Dynda are as baffled as the Doctor is on what he’s talking about.

SCENE #100 – EXT – RONZADOR, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Outside the temple of Ronzador, the Gren savages keep on trying to knock down the temple doors. They have little success, as they try to use battering rams to knock it down. But the doors still won’t budge.

JOR-ELIV
“Those doors won’t budge, Ja-Ara!”

Ja-Ara lets out an unearthly howl of rage, as she’s furious with the current situation.

JA-ARA
(shouts) “I want those doors smashed down and I want it done now! We must get in!”

LO-JO
(calls) “Perhaps I can be of some service, Queen Ja-Ara!”

Everyone gasps, as they turn to see Lo-Jo Sil and his pirates with Elar-Jom and Antuss in tow. The pirates approach Ja-Ara and Jor-Eliv. Ja-Ara becomes disturbed by Lo-Jo’s appearance.

JOR-ELIV
“Ja, who is this mongrel? He wears a big hat and funny clothes!”

JA-ARA
(shocked; to Lo-Jo) “No! It’s you! It can’t be you!”

LO-JO
“Oh it is me I’m afraid, dear Ja! A perfect opportunity to re-establish old…acquaintances.”

JA-ARA
(moodily) “Hello, Lo-Jo. I didn’t expect to see you again!”

JOR-ELIV
(disturbed) “You don’t mean to say you know this smelly man do you, Ja?”

JA-ARA
“So what? You’re married to me, aren’t you?”

JOR-ELIV
“I don’t see what our marriage has to do with anything!”

LO-JO
“I hate to interrupt this intimate conversation with you and your husband, your majesty! But I’m afraid my business is pressing! I can see you are having trouble getting in through the doors of this temple!”

JA-ARA
(spitefully) “That’s right. And what’s it to you?”

LO-JO
“Simply saying that I may well be able to help you! And I believe we may all help each other if we benefit from a little…alliance!”

JA-ARA
(suspiciously) “I know of your…little alliances, Lo- Jo! And I know what comes out of it!”

LO-JO
“Be rest assured, your majesty! I give you my word! You will not regret this alliance between me and my men with your tribe.”

JA-ARA
“And how can I be sure you won’t backstab us?”

Moment of silence.

LO-JO
“I have your daughter, Elar-Jom, held hostage by my own men as well as another one of your warriors.”

JOR-ELIV
“Elar-Jom? If you’ve harmed our daughter…”

JA-ARA
(cruelly) “Elar-Jom means nothing to us, husband. She is planning to betray us remember?”

JOR-ELIV
“At least we may have her as evidence to show to the people. Besides, how are we to know that she meant to backstab us? There may be another reason!”

JA-ARA
“What other reason could be there than treachery? It runs in the family of royal savage blood!”

JOR-ELIV
“Not necessary! Besides! We have a smelly man of our own to get off our hands, remember?”

Ja-Ara thinks, as she contemplates what Jor-Eliv has said to her.

JA-ARA
(to Lo-Jo) “Very well, Lo-Jo. We shall make a trade. We have one of your own smelly men in our captivity. So if you give us back our daughter of Gren, we will give you back our hostage. Thus trust shall be established and we can have our alliance.”

LO-JO
(pleased) “A very good suggestion, Ja-Ara! It’s a deal!”

Moment of silence.

JA-ARA
(impatiently) ”Well? Where is she? Where’s my daughter?”

LO-JO
(calls) “Morg? Pike? Bring the two savages forward!”

JOR-ELIV
(calls) “You lot! Send someone back there to bring that smelly man we captured out here, will you?”

There’s anticipation, as Morg and Pike bring Elar-Jom and Antuss forward who are still struggling to break free. They stop once they’ve been brought before Ja-Ara and Jor-Eliv.

MORG
“We brought them to you, Lo-Jo!”

PIKE
(agitated) “Yeah! And very restless they were too! Kept moving about!”

ELAR-JOM
(astonished) “Mum! Dad!”

JOR-ELIV
“Elar-Jom! Where have you been…?”

JA-ARA
“We’ll talk to you later, daughter!” (Pause) “Here’s your smelly man, Lo-Jo!”

Ja-Ara turns to see Deletos brought forward by Brother Sor.

DELETOS
(protests) “Unhand me at once you scoundrels!”

Deletos stops complaining once he sees Lo-Jo.

SOR
“I got him here, queen and king! We’ve roughened him out, you know!”

DELETOS
“My, my! It’s you, Lo-Jo! Again!”

LO-JO
(cheerfully) “Hello, Mr. Deletos! For a moment I thought it was Jason or Captain Doromir. You’re hardly special to contend with.”

Moment of tense silence.

JA-ARA
“Now, Lo-Jo! You said you could open these temple doors! Then prove it!”

Lo-Jo smirks, as he makes to approach the temple doors.

SCENE #101 – EXT – YAMAT, JUNGLOS – DATE: 4198 – DAY, MORNING
Meanwhile, on a tributary connected to the river of Ronzador in a place called Yamat, Nyssa and Billy walk beside it. As they walk, both are quiet.

NYSSA
(concerned) “Are you alright, Billy?”

BILLY
“Yeah I’m fine. Why do you ask?”

NYSSA
“Well it’s just…you’re not saying much.”

BILLY
“Sorry. Do you want me to say something?”

NYSSA
“I’d like you to talk to me. I’d like to know you still like to talk to me in your…very eager, very enthusiastic yet silly way!”

BILLY
(gradually) “Okay. Well…err…” (thinks) “Did you like the breakfast I gave you this morning?”

NYSSA
“Yes! I haven’t had that many bananas for breakfast before!”

BILLY
(apologetic) “It was all I could find really. I didn’t have enough time to look for food. And the monkeys were right onto me!”

Nyssa laughs and holds Billy by the arm as they walk.

BILLY
“You’re holding me by the arm, Nyssa? Are you sure you want to do that?”

NYSSA
“I’m not touching your skin, am I?” (Pause) “Besides…I like to hold you by the arm.”

BILLY
“Oh.”

NYSSA
“It helps me be at ease when I’m with you.”

Moment of silence as they walk. Just then, Billy starts to feel queasy as he feels his head throbbing.

NYSSA
(concerned) “Billy? Are you ill?”

BILLY
(disorientated) “I…I don’t know. Something just happened…”

NYSSA
“You look all pale.”

BILLY
(puzzled) “Am I?”

NYSSA
“Are you hot? Perhaps you’d better take your shirt off…”

BILLY
(apprehensively) “No! No, Nyssa! I’ll be fine. I…I just need to do a bit more walking that’s all!”

NYSSA
“Billy, what’s wrong with you? You seem up-tight!”

BILLY
(anxiously) “I’ll be fine! All I need to do is walk!”

Billy starts to walk forward, before he gets a sudden attack and cries out in agony. He falls to the ground.

NYSSA
(cries; concerned) “Billy! You’re hurt!”

BILLY
(grinds teeth) “I’ll be alright! Please Nyssa, don’t worry about me! Let’s just get you cured!”

Nyssa kneels to where Billy is, before she gasps in shock.

BILLY
(worried) “What? What is it? What’s wrong?”

NYSSA
(shocked) “Billy! There’s a growth on your hand! Just like the growth I have on my arm!” (Pause) “Billy! Take your shirt off!”

BILLY
“No, Nyssa! Let’s just go on and find our way to that tower!”

NYSSA
(concerned) “Please, Billy! Let me take your shirt off! I must know what’s happened to you!”

BILLY
“It’s nothing! It’s really nothing! Don’t be so concerned!”

Nyssa ignores Billy, as she reaches for his torn-shirt and opens it up.

BILLY
(pleads) “No! Nyssa, don’t!”

But Nyssa has already opened his shirt to reveals his torso and sides. Nyssa gasps in shock again, as she’s horrified by what she sees with Billy.

NYSSA
(concerned) “Oh Billy! Dear Billy! What’s happened to you?!”

BILLY
(apprehensive) “See! I did warn you!”

NYSSA
“You’ve got the infection! Except you’ve got it worse than me!”

BILLY
“Yes.” (Pause) “But how can that be? I hardly touched you!”

NYSSA
(gradually) “No, Billy! You did! You touched me when you spread that ointment on my arm, remember?”

BILLY
(realises, shocked) “Oh, Nyssa! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to…”

NYSSA
“No! I’m sorry, Billy!”

Nyssa becomes concerned about Billy’s sickness. But she has little time to think about it, as something creeps up behind her. Nyssa turns to finds herself being lifted up from the ground by a strong hand, composed of mud. She screams once she’s being lifted up.

BILLY
(shouts) “Nyssa! Nyssa, hold on!”

But Billy is unable to help her, as he’s pushed back to the ground by another strong muddy hand. He’s left disorientated, whilst Nyssa is held high up in the powerful grip of the Mud Man. The Mud Man becomes Gun Nett, whilst he still holds Nyssa in his mud grip. Nyssa gasps for breath, as she’s held by the throat.

DR. NETT
“You were meant to be sacrificed by those pathetic Gren, Nyssa of Traken! I shall see to it that their mistake won’t be made by me! At least I shall handle this with precision!”

NYSSA
(gasps; breathless) “Who are you?! What do you want from me?! Why are you trying to kill me?”

DR. NETT
“You are accomplices of the great Doctor who happens to be an enemy of my employer!”

NYSSA
(gasps; breathless) “Employer?”

DR. NETT
“Yes! A lord who’s name will be meaningless to you when you are dead!”

NYSSA
(gasps; breathless) “Please! Air! Can’t breathe! Please release me!”

DR. NETT
(cruelly) “Air is what you want, is it? You are so weak and feeble, you…”

The Mud Man is about to strike Nyssa with a mud-like punch, before…

BILLY
(shouts) “Hey! Set her down, tough guy!”

The Mud Man sees Billy before him and he drops Nyssa to the ground. Nyssa gasps for breath once she’s released, before she goes unconscious.

BILLY
(cries; concerned) “Nyssa! Are you alright?! Wake up!”

But Nyssa is unresponsive. Billy then looks up to the Mud Man.

DR. NETT
(gloats) “Well, well, well. A boy who wants to be a fighter!”

The Mud Man then transforms his face into a living horror, as he tries to scare the living daylights out of Billy. This has the effect, as Billy is terrified by the Mud Man’s scary face. The Mud Man turns his face back to normal, as he laughs at Billy.

DR. NETT
(laughs; gloats) “Does that scare you, boy?!”

The Mud Man then turns his fist into mud and punches Billy in the face. Billy gets knocked out instantly and collapses to the ground.

DR. NETT
(mock-serious) “Wow! I punched you in the face with my mud fist!” (to Billy) “Didn’t see that coming did you, boy?!”

The Mud Man laughs out loud, as he’s about to pick Nyssa and Billy up and take them away with him.
