(through intercom) “Doctor? Doctor, are you there?” (Pause; annoyed) “Where is he?”
Inside Shuttle Hawk #49, Billy tries to call the Doctor through the intercom, but doesn’t have much success. He tries again.
BILLY
(through intercom) “Doctor?! Doctor?!”
Still no response. Billy sighs annoyed, as he pilots the shuttle.
BILLY
(sighs) “Great! How am I going to fly this shuttle now?”
Billy then looks out of the right shuttle window and sees something that makes him anxious.
BILLY
(anxiously) “Oh no! Not them again!”
SCENE #92 –EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
The Dalek Patrol Ship traverses through space on impulse speed. It seeks for and pursues Shuttle Hawk #49. The Dalek Patrol Ship looms menacingly as it is about to attack.
SCENE #93 – INT – DALEK PATROL SHIP – 26TH CENTURY – AFTERNOON
On the command deck of the Dalek Patrol Ship…
DALEK PATROL LEADER
“THE FUGITIVE MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO LIVE. NOTHING CAN ESCAPE US! NOTHING CAN RESIST US! THE DOC-TOR’S COMPANION WILL BE…EXTERMINATED! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!”
DALEKS
(chants) “EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(CONTINUES INTO:)
SCENE #94 – INT – SHUTTLE HAWK #49 – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
As the Daleks chant ‘Exterminate!’, Billy reaches for the piloting controls in Shuttle Hawk #49.
BILLY
“Well, Billy. If the Doctor can’t help, then you just have to do it yourself.” (Pause) “But how? How are you going to do this? You have no idea of space shuttles!”
The shuttle shudders, as it gets fired upon. Billy is startled as he looks out of the window to see the Daleks attacking.
BILLY
(worried) “Come on, Billy! Stop putting yourself down! Stop arguing and get on with it.”
Just then, a male computer voice speaks.
COMPUTER VOICE
“Shield integrity: fifty per cent.”
Billy looks on the console to decide what buttons to press.
BILLY
(cautiously) “Now, if I press these buttons here…”
Billy presses the buttons...
BILLY
“…and pull down this small lever here…”
Billy pulls the lever. Just then the Daleks fire again, causing the shuttle to shudder again. Almost falling onto the controls, Billy gets back into his seat safely.
BILLY
(annoyed) “These shuttles should have seat belts.”
The male computer voice speaks again.
COMPUTER VOICE
“Shield integrity: twenty-five per cent and decreasing. Advise evasive action.”
Billy attends to the controls again.
BILLY
“Now…what did I just do?” (thinks) “Oh yes. Then…press this button…here!”
As Billy presses the button, the shuttle throttles forward. Billy falls out of his seat.
BILLY
(cries) “Whoa!”
The shuttle has now gone into warp speed. Getting back up onto his seat, Billy sits to check the ship’s instruments. The shuttle goes at full speed and shudders slightly.
BILLY
(annoyed) This isn’t what I intended! (Pause) What do I do now?
SCENE #95 – INT – DALEK PATROL SHIP – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
On the command deck aboard the Dalek Patrol Ship, the Daleks monitor the shuttle’s jump into warp drive.
PATROL DALEK #1
EARTH SHUTTLE HAS GONE INTO WARP DRIVE! IT IS OUT OF FIRING RANGE!
DALEK PATROL LEADER
WHAT IS ITS CURRENT DESTINATION? REPORT! REPORT!
PATROL DALEK #1
DESTINATION: YONDAMUS FOUR. NOW TRAVELLING AT WARP FIVE POINT FIVE AND INCREASING.
DALEK PATROL LEADER
UNDERSTOOD.
PATROL DALEK #1
(gradually) DO WE PURSUE AND DESTROY?
DALEK PATROL LEADER
NO. THE BOY WILL BE EXTERMINATED ON IMPACT INTO ENTRY OF ORBIT OF YONDAMUS FOUR. RETURN TO EARTH SHIP MOON-RAKER RENDEZVOUS FOR FURTHER ORDERS.

WE OBEY!
The Daleks set about their tasks as they make to return to the Moonraker.
SCENE #96 – INT – SHUTTLE HAWK #49 – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Back on the shuttle, Billy frantically presses buttons to slow down the shuttle. Nothing seems to work. Billy slams his hands on the controls.
BILLY
(frustrated; panics) Come on, you stupid contraptions. Work! Slow down!
Whilst he panics, Billy looks to see where the shuttle is heading.
BILLY
“Oh no.” (Pause) “There’s the planet! And I’m travelling in a shuttle that’s going at top speed. And I can’t slow down.”
SCENE #97 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
In deep space, Shuttle Hawk #49 zooms off towards the atmosphere of Yondamus IV. As it reaches the planet, the shuttle with Billy on board breaks through the hot rim of the planet’s atmosphere.
SCENE #98 – INT – CARGO BAY #1, MOONRAKER – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Meanwhile on the Moonraker, the Doctor; Captain Sulley; Elaine; Colin and Gavin watch and wait for the decision of their fate by the Agent Dalek, after their attempt to help Billy in ‘Part Two’. The second Patrol Dalek is still there, and so is the Yondamus Ambassador Togal.
DOCTOR
“What are you going to do to us? Or more than that, what are you going to do to me? Kill me? Of course that would be illogical since you wish to keep me alive.”
AGENT DALEK
“THE DALEK MOTHERSHIP WILL BE ARRIVING SHORTLY. YOUR USEFULNESS WILL NOT BE DISMISSED.”
DOCTOR
“Very reassuring, I’m sure. What about the crew? Are you going to spare them?”
Captain Sulley steps forward.
CAPTAIN
“Yes! What happens to my ship?”
AGENT DALEK
“THE DALEKS NEED SLAVE LABOUR. YOU AND YOUR CREW WILL BE TAKEN TO YONDAMUS PRIME. THE EMPEROR OF THE DALEKS NEEDS A NEW WORK FORCE IN THE MINES OF YONDAMUS.”
CAPTAIN
(to Togal) Ambassador Togal, what have you done? What is going on?
TOGAL
I told you to take us to Yondamus Four sooner, Captain. But you wouldn’t listen.
COLIN
(to Daleks) You don’t seriously think we’ll comply with your orders, do you?
AGENT DALEK
YOU WILL OBEY! (Pause) IN ANY CASE, YOU WILL NOT RESIST.
COLIN
Oh. And why not?
PATROL DALEK #2
YOU WILL BE UNDER OUR SUPERVISION. WE HAVE ACQUIRED FULL KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR SHIP’S ENGINES.
DOCTOR
That’s why you needed Mr. Cornwall. You needed the assimilate the Moonraker chief engineer’s skills by yourselves to avoid any human resistance. That’s why you killed him!
AGENT DALEK
“IT WAS NECESSARY!”
DOCTOR
“Nothing is necessary as murder.”
AGENT DALEK
“SILENCE, DOC-TOR! YOU CANNOT RESIST US! YOU SHALL BE TAKEN TO YONDAMUS PRIME TO DEAL WITH THE DWAXI THREAT.”
DOCTOR
(sardonically) “I’m honoured to be in your service.”
The Patrol Dalek then glides forward to address the Agent Dalek.
PATROL DALEK #2
“RECEIVING COMM-UNI-CATIONS FROM DALEK MOTHERSHIP. THEY HAVE ARRIVED!”
AGENT DALEK
“EXCELLENT!” (to Doctor) “DOC-TOR! YOU WILL COME WITH US!”
DOCTOR
“So that you can keep an eye on me? Make sure I don’t contact my young friend again?”
AGENT DALEK
“IT IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE. YOUR FRIEND WILL BE ELIMINATED INSTANTLY!”
DOCTOR
“Why? First you want him captured; now you want him killed. What’s so important…?”
AGENT DALEK
“YOU WILL NOT QUESTION THE DALEKS! YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO OUR MOTHERSHIP AT ONCE! MOVE! MOVE!”
DOCTOR
“Alright, alright.”
AGENT DALEK
“MOVE!”
Reluctantly, the Doctor moves as the behest of the Agent Dalek. Elaine then steps forward.
ELAINE
(to Daleks) “Wait a minute.” (Pause) “I’m going with the Doctor.”
CAPTAIN
(to Elaine) “Commander Thomas? Are you out of your mind?”
DOCTOR
(to Elaine) “Commander, I really wouldn’t…”
AGENT DALEK
“THE DOCTOR IS OUR PRISONER. YOU WILL REMAIN WITH THE REST OF THE CREW.”
ELAINE
(to Daleks) “But the Doctor is my responsibility, as instructed by my Captain.” (to Captain) “Isn’t that right, Captain?”
CAPTAIN
“Uh…yes. That’s right. But Commander Thomas…”
ELAINE
(to Daleks) “So if you are taking the Doctor with you to your mothership, then I have to see to it that you don’t kill him.”
AGENT DALEK
WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR RELATION-SHIP TO THE DOC-TOR. NO DISCUSSION OR NEGOTIATION WILL BE MADE. YOU WILL REMAIN WITH THE REST OF THE CREW.
ELAINE
But listen!
PATROL DALEK #2
YOU WILL OBEY OR BE EXTERMINATED!
ELAINE
But I have Dwaxi information!
AGENT DALEK
(surprised) YOU HAVE? INFORMATION ABOUT THE DWAXI?
ELAINE
Yes! And I might be able to tell you about it. But only if you let me come with you.
PATROL DALEK #2
IT IS A LIE. SHE’S IS TRYING TO DECEIVE US.
AGENT DALEK
“AGREED.”
ELAINE
“You don’t know where the Dwaxi come from though.”
AGENT DALEK
“NO.”
ELAINE
“Well, then. I do.”
AGENT DALEK
“TELL ME.”
ELAINE
(hesitates) “I can’t. I must tell your Emperor!”
AGENT DALEK
“THAT IS NOT NECESSARY!”
ELAINE
“But it is. Your Emperor must put a new battle strategy forward if he is to know this. I only tell the information about the Dwaxi’s origin to your Emperor and no-one else. Do you understand me?”
The Agent Dalek considers for a moment. It turns its eyestalk to Patrol Dalek #2, as if conveying some secret information. It then turns its eyestalk back to Elaine.
AGENT DALEK
“VERY WELL. YOU SHALL GO WITH THE DOC-TOR. BUT NO TRICKS.”
Moment of silence, as Elaine goes to join the Doctor.
ELAINE
(quietly) “Hello, Doctor.”
DOCTOR
“Why are you coming with me, Elaine? You don’t know anything about the Dwaxi’s whereabouts or where they come from more than I do. Why are you slipping into the Emperor’s audience with me?”
ELAINE
“Come on, Doctor. You’re my responsibility. I have to look after you.”
DOCTOR
“Well, that’s very kind of you.”
AGENT DALEK
(interrupts) YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO THE MOTHERSHIP NOW!
Togal steps forward.
TOGAL
I shall come with you as well.
AGENT DALEK
NO. YOU WILL REMAIN ON THE EARTH SHIP.
TOGAL
I must speak with the Supreme Dalek! I want to know the progress of the Daleks’ part of the deal with my people.
AGENT DALEK
VERY WELL. (to Patrol Dalek #2) PATROL DALEK! YOU WILL KEEP WATCH ON THE PRISONERS HERE ON EARTH SHIP MOONRAKER! RETURN TO YOUR VESSEL WHEN IT RENDEZVOUS WITH US AND REPORTS THE EXTERMINATION OF THE HUMAN BOY! DALEK UNITS WILL BE SENT IN TO TAKE OVER FROM YOU TO PILOT MOONRAKER SHIP TO YONDAMUS PRIME

I UNDERSTAND AND OBEY!
The Agent Dalek then computes some codes in its computer. It attempts to contact the Mothership.
AGENT DALEK
CONTACT WITH MOTHER-SHIP ESTABLISHED! AWAITING TELEPORT.
A while later…
AGENT DALEK
TELEPORT ESTABLISHED. WE ARE TO TRANSPORT TO THE DALEK MOTHER-SHIP NOW!
Almost immediately, the Doctor; Elaine; Togal and the Agent Dalek are caught in a teleport beam. They get taken to the Dalek Mothership. Once gone, Patrol Dalek #2 is left to watch the Moonraker crew.
SCENE #99 – INT – MICROS WAREHOUSE #5 – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
On Yondamus IV, at the Dwaxi camp, Nyssa and Nina are brought in by Dwaxi Jack and the Dwaxi troopers before Dwaxi Commander Targah. Gabrog and the Blockade are also with him. Dwaxi Jack gives his report to Commander Targah.
JACK
(viciously) “I found these two at the communications station, attempting to let our enemies know our whereabouts! Luckily I bashed in and crashed the party! I met a bit of resistance from one of those Globtol fur-balls but that didn’t stop the girls escaping! Luckily my Dwaxi patrol was on guard around the building and captured them instantly.”
TARGAH
“What did you do to the Globtol anyway?”
JACK
“I gave it a shot-full!”
TARGAH
(laughs) “Good. That should keep him asleep!”
The Dwaxi laugh menacingly, as Nyssa and Nina remain anxious.
NYSSA
“You killed the Globtol on purpose!”
NINA
“You murderers! And what have you done to Jack! You turned him against me and Nyssa. His friends.”
GABROG
(viciously) “He’s not your friend anymore! He’s one of us!”
TARGAH
“He has been conditioned under Dwaxi influence.”
NYSSA
(challengingly) “How?”
TARGAH
“Mind your own business!”
NINA
“Change him back! Change Jack back!”
TARGAH
“Tough! We’re going to keep him that way!”
NINA
(angrily) “I can’t believe I’m hearing this!”
Nina steps forward to approach Jack.
NYSSA
“Nina, don’t.”
Nina ignores Nyssa, as she approaches Jack.
NINA
(encouragingly) “Jack! It’s me! Nina! You remember? The old Jack wouldn’t turn your back on your friend?”
JACK
(coldly) “That’s right, Dr. Cole. The ‘old Jack’ wouldn’t!” (shouts) “BUT THE NEW JACK WOULD!”
Jack pushes Nina roughly away, as she falls back to which Nyssa catches her. Startled and appalled, Nina turns to see the other Dwaxi laughing and making fun of her.
GABROG
(mockingly) “Is Jack your friend now, girly?”
The Dwaxi keep laughing, as Nina gets upset.
NINA
(upset; angrily) “Stop it, all of you! Just stop it!”
Gabrog then grabs Nina’s arm and twists it, to which she cries out in pain.
NYSSA
“Leave her alone! Let her go!”
GABROG
(venomously) “You’re such a weak insignificant girl! Do you really think you can dominate us?”
NINA
(cries; in pain) “My arm!”
NYSSA
“Let her go!”
Gabrog lets go of Nina’s arm, pushing her towards Nyssa. Nyssa catches Nina again before she loses her balance. Nina is still in pain from Gabrog’s grip on her.
TARGAH
(cruelly) “We take charge here! Not you! Nor you! Only the Dwaxi are in charge!”
NYSSA
“You’re insane!”
Targah grabs hold of Nyssa by the collar. He pulls her to his face. Nyssa trembles once she’s face to face with Targah.
TARGAH
“You know something. We take that as a great compliment! NOW SHUT YOUR MOUTH!”
Targah drops Nyssa to the floor. She lands on her back. Shocked, Nyssa slowly gets up off the floor with Nyssa helping her. The Dwaxi laugh maliciously once Nyssa stands on her feet.
TARGAH
“Blockade?”
BLOCKADE
“YES?”
TARGAH
“Take these girls back to the Dwaxi flagship parked on this planet! Get them ready for processing!”
BLOCKADE
“AT ONCE!”
The Blockade pushes his way forward through the crowd to grab Nyssa and Nina.
NYSSA
“What does that mean? What do you mean ‘processing’?”
TARGAH
(mockingly) “You will find out!” (laughs) “Oh you’ll find out!”
BLOCKADE
“COME ON! GET MOVING!”
The Blockade drags Nyssa and Nina with him, as he takes them back to the Dwaxi flagship parked on Yondamus IV. The other Dwaxi troopers follow them, taunting maliciously. Targah; Gabrog and Dwaxi Jack remain behind.
GABROG
“Such weak creatures, women!”
TARGAH
“Have the communication stations been accounted for?”
GABROG
“Yes, Commander. They have.”
TARGAH
“Good. Then our brothers shall be called for! They will wait no longer!”
Targah then starts to groan, as he’s in pain. Gabrog notices this.
GABROG
(jeers) “Are you alright, sir?”
Targah quickly straightens up to face Gabrog.
TARGAH
(challengingly) “Do I look weak to you, Trooper?”
GABROG
(knowingly) “No, Commander. Not at all! Who do you think I am?”
TARGAH
“I need some more treatment. My supply is running out!” (to Jack) “You! Stupid whipper boy! Gert me some Yentias! Now, now, NOW!!!!”
Targah punches Jack in the face. Jack draws blood.
JACK
(angrily) “Alright, alright, you stupid bozo! I’ll get them! I’ll get them! I’LL GET THEM, OKAY!!! I’LL GET THEM!!!”
TARGAH
“Stuff off, you loser! And get some Yentias for yourself! Don’t look weak in front of the others! Get some filthy stuff down your rotten neck now!”
Jack goes off to fetch some ‘Yentias’ for Targah as well as for herself.
TARGAH
“Very soon, Gabrog! Very soon…the Dwaxi will rise!”
SCENE #100 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
The Dalek Mothership’s engines hum, as it looms beside the Moonraker. As the Dalek Mothership is parked next to the Moonraker, the Dalek Patrol Ship returns from pursuing capture Billy.
SCENE #101 – INT – DALEK MOTHERSHIP – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Meanwhile on the Dalek Mothership, the Agent Dalek leads the Doctor; Elaine and Togal to the command deck. The Supreme Dalek glides in to greet them.
AGENT DALEK
OPERATION: PRISONER DOC-TOR HAS BEEN ACHIEVED. WE ARE READY TO SET COURSE FOR YONDAMUS PRIME.
SUPREME DALEK
DALEK ENGINEERS HAVE RECEIVED THE INFORMATION OF THE EARTH SHIP MOON-RAKER’S ENGINES AND HAVE SENT UNITS TO OPERATE THE SHIP AND GUARD THE HUMAN PRISONERS.
AGENT DALEK
UNDERSTOOD.
SUPREME DALEK
THE PATROL SHIP SENT TO INFILTRATE AND KILL IS APPROACHING.
AGENT DALEK
THEY WILL HAVE THE REPORT OF THE EXTERMINATION OF THE HUMAN BOY!
DOCTOR
His name’s Billy, by the way.
SUPREME DALEK
“YOU WILL BE SILENT, DOC-TOR!”
DOCTOR
“Sorry. It’s my way of cutting into the conversation whenever I feel left out.”
Togal steps forward.
TOGAL
“Supreme Dalek! I must talk to you!”
SUPREME DALEK
“SILENCE!”
TOGAL
“But I must speak to you about our deal.”
SUPREME DALEK
“SILENCE!”
TOGAL
“I must know how you hold your end of the deal!”
SUPREME DALEK
YOU WILL SPEAK TO THE EMPEROR! HE WILL INFORM YOU OF THE CONDITIONS BEING MET! NOW SILENCE! (to Agent Dalek) THESE PRISONERS WILL BE KEPT GUARD!
AGENT DALEK
(to two Daleks) YOU TWO WILL WATCH THESE PRISONERS. IF THEY TRY TO ESCAPE, EXTERMINATE THEM!
DALEKS
WE OBEY!
TOGAL
(shocked) Prisoners?! But I’m your ally, Daleks! I helped you…
SUPREME DALEK
YOU WILL BE SILENT, AMBASSADOR! OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED NOW!
Togal is shocked, as the two Daleks ordered to watch him; the Doctor and Elaine train their guns on them.
DOCTOR
(quietly) Not as easy as you thought, Ambassador.
TOGAL
“Shut up!”
DOCTOR
“Allying yourself with the Daleks is always a risky business. Which I always advise against since it leads to death!”
ELAINE
“What do you hope to gain out of all this, Ambassador? To risk the deaths of so many people! Including Gregory!”
TOGAL
(angrily) Shut up; shut up; shut up!!!
Togal isolates himself from the Doctor and Elaine. The Doctor and Elaine meanwhile confer quietly to each other.
ELAINE
It’s no good. We’re not getting to him.
DOCTOR
What the Ambassador wants from the Daleks is obviously power beyond imagining. And the Daleks seem the perfect opportunity to provide him that.
ELAINE
You seem to be sure about that.
DOCTOR
Oh, it’s not easy. When I’ve known Daleks for so long, they’re that predictable.
ELAINE
I just hope Kevin and the others are alright.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Dalek and the Agent Dalek confer with each other, as they approach an intercom.
SUPREME DALEK
HAS THE PATROL DALEK ON EARTH SHIP MOONRAKER RETURNED TO THE PATROL SHIP?
AGENT DALEK
IT HAS. COMMUN-I-CATIONS CONFIRMED!
There is whirring noise, as the Agent Dalek glides to the left panel. It checks the instruments, using its eyestalk.
AGENT DALEK
RECEIVING COMMUNICATIONS HAIL FROM PATROL SHIP.
SUPREME DALEK
LOWER COMMUNICATIONS BARRIER!
A communication channel is established. The Dalek Patrol Leader speaks on the intercom.
DALEK PATROL LEADER (V’O)
PATROL LEADER HAS REPORT FOR SUPREME DALEK.
SUPREME DALEK
(through intercom) SPEAK.
DALEK PATROL LEADER (V’O)
I HAVE INTERCEPTED HUMAN MALE IN SMALL EARTH VESSEL IDENTIFIED AS SHUTTLE HAWK FOUR NINE. WE ATTACKED THE VESSEL BUT THEN WENT INTO WARP DRIVE.
AGENT DALEK
(through intercom) WHERE IS THE VESSEL NOW?
DALEK PATROL LEADER (V’O)
IT WAS ON DIRECT COURSE TO YONDAMUS FOUR! LAST SEEN ON IMPACT WITH PLANET’S ATMOSPHERE.
SUPREME DALEK
(through intercom) HAS THE BOY BEEN CONFIRMED DEAD?
DALEK PATROL LEADER (V’O)
“THE SHUTTLE WILL BE DESTROYED IN PLANET’S ATMOSPHERE. THE BOY WILL BE KILLED DURING THE IMPACT.”
SUPREME DALEK
(through intercom) “HAS THE BOY BEEN CONFIRMED DEAD, PATROL LEADER?”
Moment of silence.
DALEK PATROL LEADER (V’O)
“NEGATIVE!”
Another moment of silence.
SUPREME DALEK
“RAISE COMMUNICATIONS BARRIER!”
The transmission ends on the intercom. The Supreme Dalek turns to the Dalek on the command deck.

“THE PATROL SHIP WILL BE DESTROYED! THEY HAVE FAILED IN THEIR MISSION. MISTAKES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! EXTERMINATE THEM! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!”
SCENE #102 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
In deep space, the Dalek Mothership fires on the Dalek Patrol Ship. The shots hit the Dalek Patrol Ship and it explodes into smithereens. Debris of the Dalek Patrol Ship scatter into space.
SCENE #103 – INT – DALEK MOTHERSHIP – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Back on the command deck of the Dalek Mothership, the Supreme Dalek turns to the Agent Dalek.
SUPREME DALEK
ANOTHER PATROL VESSEL WILL BE SENT TO YONDAMUS FOUR. SEE TO IT THAT THE PATROL WILL HAVE THE BOY EXTERMINATED!
AGENT DALEK
I WILL SEE TO IT!
SUPREME DALEK
HAVE THE DALEKS UNITS SENT TO EARTH SHIP MOONRAKER TAKEN THEIR POSITIONS?
AGENT DALEK
YES. DALEK ENGINEERS ARE AWAITING ORDERS.
SUPREME DALEK

The Dalek Technicians set about their task. Meanwhile, Elaine confers quietly with the Doctor.
ELAINE
Doctor? Did you hear that about your friend? He was on his way to Yondamus Four?
DOCTOR
Yes. Last seen entering the atmosphere of the planet. Possibly he could be dead.
ELAINE
(encouragingly) Not necessarily, Doctor. He may well be alive!
DOCTOR
“Hmm! Well even if he is, we won’t be much help to him. We’re going away from Yondamus Four.”
SCENE #104 – EXT – YONDAMUS SPACE – 26TH CENTURY – N/A
In deep space, the Dalek Mothership sets course for Yondamus Prime. It is followed by the Moonraker, as both ships go into warp drive.
SCENE #105 – INT – SHUTTLE HAWK #49 – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Meanwhile on Yondamus IV, Billy lies unconscious on the floor of Shuttle Hawk #49. The control panels explode and spark slightly with the shuttle controls damaged and unstable. The monitor screens also flicker frequently too. Groaning, Billy slowly wakes up. He raises his hand to his head.
BILLY
(in pain) “Ooh, my head.”
After tending to his head, he lowers his hand to see that he has blood on it.
BILLY
“Oh. Must have knocked it against something. Caused quite a gash.”
Slowly rolling over, Billy manages to sit up. Billy focuses on his surroundings for a while, before getting up carefully from the floor. He makes for the pilot control panel and sits up in the pilot’s chair beside it.
BILLY
(disorientated) “Come on, Billy. Get a grip on yourself.”
Billy breathes deep, as he sees the extent of the damage to the shuttle.
BILLY
(chuckles) “This thing must have crashed on the planet. Fancy that. Me! In a shuttle that’s crashed-landed.”
Billy goes to one of the control panels and presses a buttons to see if the controls work.
BILLY
The controls must be damaged as well.” (Pause) “Can’t see anything outside. Must be misty.” (Pause) “I wonder if I can make contact with anyone.”
Billy presses the button that he thinks activates the intercom. He tries to speak through it.
BILLY
(through intercom) “Hello? Hello? This is…this is Billy. Billy Walker. To anyone.”
No response.
BILLY
(through intercom, agitated) “Hello? This is Billy Walker to anyone! Can anyone hear me?” (Pause) “Doctor? Doctor, are you there?”
Still no response.
BILLY
(sighs) “The radio must be smashed. Unless of course I’m out of range and the Doctor’s far, far away with…those Daleks.” (Pause) “Darn it!”
Moment of silence. Almost tired, Billy lays his head on the control console. After a while, Billy raises his head.
BILLY
(thinks) “Well…there’s nothing you can do here, Billy. See if you can try to go outside.” (Pause) “Unless the door mechanism’s broken and you can’t get out.” (Pause) “Now stop being defeatist, Billy. Just get to the door and see if you can open it!” (Pause; groans) “Okay.”
Billy then gets slowly to his feet. He makes for the end of the shuttle to open the door, walking slowly. He finds the control panel to open the shuttle door.
BILLY
(thinks) “Now…it’s this one isn’t it?”
Billy then presses the button on the control panel. An awful ‘negative’ noise bleeps in response.
BILLY
“No.” (Pause) “Maybe it’s this one.”
Billy presses another button. Instead of the ‘negative’ noise, a positive beep bleeps in response. The shuttle door open as they lower down onto the ramp. Relieved, Billy makes his way to leave the shuttle. From outside, a terrible wind echoes.
SCENE #106 – EXT – QAVIN, YONDAMUS IV – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
Outside, Billy steps out of the shuttle into the open air. It turns out that Billy has stepped into the midst of a ferocious sand-storm. The wind grows stronger, as sand billows through the wind and into Billy’s face.
BILLY
“Sand storm!” (laughs) “Fancy that.”
Billy then raises his hand to head as it throbs away.
BILLY
(disoriented) “I hope Nyssa’s not in this.”
Billy rubs his head, as the sand storm continues.
BILLY
“Well…even if she is or she isn’t…I must go forward.”
With determination, Billy steps off the ramp and walks forward into the sand storm.
SCENE #107 – EXT – QAVIN, YONDAMUS IV – 26TH CENTURY – EVENING
After walking for some time, Billy trudges on through the harsh winds of the sandstorm. Sand continues to fly into Billy’s face. Spitting and spluttering, Billy finds it hard to keep focused and loses his balance as he trips on something.
BILLY
(tired; suffer) “There can’t be this much sand.” (Pause) “I can’t keep on.”
Billy then falls forward to the ground and lands flat on his face. Eventually, he manages to get up on his knees, feeling the treacherous wind on him.
BILLY
(tired; suffers) “No. I must…must go forward.” (Pause) “I must go forward.”
Getting onto his feet, Billy walks forward. But barely at a quick rate, Billy begins to lose consciousness and balance as he trudges on through the storm.
BILLY
(tired; suffers) “Go forward. I must…go…forward. I must…go…”
Eventually, Billy collapses to the ground unconscious. The storm rages on fiercely, as Billy’s crumpled body lies buried in the sand. A few minutes later, footsteps approach before someone stands over Billy’s body.

Ah, so Billy’s managed to crash land on Yondamus Four; that’s good! Oh, who’s standing over him at the end of the chapter? My goodness!

CHAPTER 8
All will be revealed, whether in this story or another, about the Dwaxi Directors making an appearance. 😀 You could be right about the Directors planning a Dwaxi conversion on Jack like that. It depends what the Dwaxi are doing in Yondamus space anyway and why they’ve been sent in order to do battle with the Daleks; the Moonraker and such.
I like how you reflect on how Nyssa’s character has developed from her travels with the Doctor from being living a sheltered life on Traken to becoming more confident and seeing the best in people later on. It’s something I liked in Nyssa’s character and the BF audios do that tremendously well these days.
I’m not sure at what point the Earth forces are fighting the Daleks at this stage as its kept intentionally vague. But I’m certain it’s some time after ‘Frontier in Space’/’Planet of the Daleks’ where the Earth forces are fighting the Daleks following the Draconian business. It would certainly be some time when Bernice Summerfield knew about the Daleks in her time from ‘Love and War’. I imagine the Earth forces have had a lot of battles with the Daleks and certainly know a lot about them compared to what that group of humans didn’t know about them in a story like ‘The Power of the Daleks’.
I like your comments about how Billy feels protective over Nyssa since he comes from 1963. I’m pleased you think that’s keeping with his character from his time period as I wasn’t sure whether that was accurate. I’m glad you don’t find that a bad thing in his character since Billy hasn’t known Nyssa for that long and he’s getting to know her more in these stories whereas the Doctor has known her for a fairly long time.

I’m glad you liked the scenes where the Doctor and the others make contact with Billy in the shuttle. It was a challenge trying to keep the pace flowing and build the tension as Billy was trying to escape the Daleks aboard the Moonraker in the shuttle. Well, I wanted to make it real when Billy’s reacts on how to cope with piloting a shuttle and it would be pretty scary for him when he tries it for the first time and doesn’t know how to work the controls with the Doctor and the others helping him.
Yes the thought of being converted into a Dwaxi like Jack is very frightening for Nyssa and Nina. I wanted to put that forward in the story and to make the audience react to that in the same as Nyssa and Nina did as they don’t want to be converted, do they? I’m looking forward to reading your reaction when you find out how the Dwaxi converted Jack and by what means they do. I can assure you, it’s very chilling indeed.
CHAPTER 9
Yes Billy pressed some buttons and the shuttle zoomed forward. That would give him a shock wouldn’t it, as I’m sure it would for anyone who isn’t used to flying a shuttle at warp speed. I’m glad you liked those moments in the story. It gets tense when the Daleks are chasing him and Billy crashes through the atmosphere of Yondamus IV and ends up on there. It’s amazing Billy’s managed to get to Yondamus IV so quickly away from the Moonraker, isn’t it? Perhaps that’s what happened when travelling at full speed in a shuttle in outer space, hey?
The Supreme Dalek wasn’t at all pleased when the Dalek Patrol Ship sent to destroy Billy failed in their mission, wasn’t it? Interesting that the Dalek Patrol Ship believed Billy would get destroyed in the shuttle through the crash/impact into Yondamus IV’s atmosphere, but the Supreme Dalek didn’t seem to think so. There was no hesitation when the Supreme Dalek ordered the Dalek Patrol Ship to be destroyed, was there?
Yes it’s interesting how Elaine wants to be with the Doctor and keep him company. She’s very determined and strong-minded as you say to go with the Doctor when the Daleks wouldn’t allow it. What she said about having ‘information’ about the Dwaxi to the Daleks was a good bargaining chip, wasn’t it? She of course doesn’t want to work as a slave for the Daleks as Captain Sulley, Colin and Gavin are about to be subjected to. And of course, it’s good she keeps reminding the Doctor that he is her responsibility, isn’t it? The Doctor has had another woman joining him like Todd from ‘Kinda’; Shayla from ‘Primeval’; Kari from ‘Terminus’ and Jane from ‘The Awakening’, hasn’t he?
Ambassador Togal won’t reveal freely about why the Daleks are working with the Yondamons to the Doctor and Elaine, will he? He’s also very insistent about going with the Daleks to Yondamus Prime, isn’t he? I wonder what his game is then. 😀 I liked it when the Doctor mocked Togal for his alliance with the Daleks and saying that it’s not easy.
I’m sure you’ll find out what the Daleks are up to on Yondamus Prime. I hope you’ll find it interesting as well as scary.
The Doctor’s going to meet the Emperor Dalek, isn’t he? It’s been a while since the Doctor last met the Emperor isn’t it and not with very pleasant memories either from ‘The Mutant Phase’.
Yes the Dwaxi are being very cruel to Nyssa and Nina, aren’t they? They certainly are chauvinists as well as big bullies, aren’t they? The moments when Nina tries to reason with Dwaxi Jack are pretty frightening, aren’t they? Who knows what’s going to happen to Nyssa and Nina when they get taken away for ‘processing’. Perhaps they don’t survive this and get converted into Dwaxi like Jack is now. Who knows? 😀
Ah, so you’ve spotted the Dwaxi need their treatment regularly. Yes, and it’s called Yentias. It’s obviously something that they get ‘stuffed’ down their necks. What do you think that could hint at then and how it draws the Dwaxi now? It’s obviously the thing the Daleks are trying to find a virus for on the Dwaxi. It’s all coming together, isn’t it?
I’m glad you’re pleased that Billy managed to survive after crash-landing onto Yondamus IV. But will he find Nyssa though? Billy has a struggle through the sand-storm when he walks through it to find Nyssa and loses conscious, doesn’t he? That gash on his mind might be more serious than he thought to cause him to faint like that.
Yes who is that standing over Billy at the end of that chapter? Does that mean the Dwaxi, Nyssa and Nina aren’t the only ones on Yondamus IV after all? Who else could be on the planet? I’m sure you’re looking forward to finding out.

Oh, I see, making me wait to see about the Dwaxi Directors! I’ll find out eventually, I’m sure!
It certainly is intriguing to find out what it is all about, and what’s behind the Dwaxi, directing the actions that we’re now seeing.
I agree with you on Nyssa’s character development, I think it’s been really important for the longevity of the character that Big Finish have been able to take what was shown on tv, and build on that. Shows that the character was well thought out to start with, I think, that the ‘skeleton’ of it was there to be built on.
It’s hard to keep track of the Earth forces wars against the Daleks, isn’t it, especially when time travel becomes involved! If you haven’t read it, the Tenth Doctor novel Prisoner of the Daleks by Trevor Baxendale is well worth getting hold of. There’s an audio reading of it available, too, with Nicholas Briggs performing. It’s a really good story of the struggle against the Daleks.
I think that Billy’s character would be well within the parameters you’d expect from a young man, brought up in the 1950/60s as Billy has been. I think it’s exactly right; not that I’m old enough to know, of course! But it certainly seems right to me. No, I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all for Billy to be protective, not at all. It’s quite right, I think. And is different from the way the Doctor views Nyssa, as it should be, of course.
I’ve noticed you like to make me work to find out what’s happening next, with no clues given, or only enough to make me wonder even more, Tim!
I think the scenes with the Doctor and the others in the Moonraker, and Billy on the shuttle are very well done. It would be hard indeed to keep the momentum and tension going, while keeping it within the boundaries of what would seem to be a realism that would work in the environment. I think that has been achieved very well.
It’s interesting to see the action as it unfolds from the perspective of several participants in the story. We knew Jack had been converted before Nyssa and Nina did; so it was that we were able to see the shock they got when they saw Jack, from our perspective of already knowing it had taken place. They don’t still know whether they could be seen as prospective conversion targets, or not, as they don’t know why the Dwaxi are even converting anyone, rather than killing them.
Oh, that sounds very horrid, the Dwaxi conversion process, I shall let you know when I get to that part!
I think Billy was very lucky that the shuttle responded as he ultimately wanted it to, and he was able to get away from the Dalek patrol ship. He was lucky, too, to crash land without being killed on Yondamus IV, wasn’t he? Travelling at warp speed certainly got him there quickly!
I was quite surprised the Supreme Dalek ordered the patrol ship to be destroyed; seems like a waste of resources, destroying the ship itself. Still, I suppose he thought it was a necessary lesson for the other Daleks; you wouldn’t miss a lesson like that, would you, if you were a Dalek? He didn’t hesitate in ordering them all to be destroyed, so he must have been worried that Billy would survive, and that his survival would bring further trouble on Yondamus IV.
It’s good that Elaine was determined to stick with the Doctor. I think she also sees that having someone from the Moonraker with him, gives them all their best chance of survival, as she can continue to act as liaison between the Doctor and the other Moonraker crew, if she can get back to talk to them, and keep them updated on what the Doctor might be able to do to help everyone.
Yes, I liked the way the Doctor showed his contempt for Ambassador Togal, who really is not a nice person! Very mercenary and greedy; he reminded me a bit of Mavic Chen; that sort of greedy character who thinks he’s being more clever than the Daleks, only to ultimately find out that the Daleks don’t play nicely, ever.
I’m sure I will find it interesting and scary, when I find out what the Daleks are up to on Yondamus Prime. The Emperor Dalek will taunt the Doctor, I’m sure, with their power over him and the universe. But they must be afraid of the Dwaxi, or they wouldn’t be going down this route with the Doctor at all, if they could avoid it, I’m sure.
Oh, now I don’t think Nyssa’s going to get converted into a Dwaxi. Or perhaps she is, and she has to be converted back!? Goodness, I hadn’t thought of that! I’m sure I shall find out eventually! And as for Nina, who knows? I will have to keep reading!
Yes, the Dwaxi Yentias treatment, and the Dalek’s virus that they’re trying to develop all does make sense now. I can see that being the way the Daleks minds would work. If they can’t win by brute force, they try to get clever, and use their enemy’s weakness against them, don’t they? Intriguing!
Golly, I still don’t know who’s standing over Billy! I will have to read on and find out!

A tension fuelled chapter, Billy going through it isn’t he, avoiding extermination, crashing on Yondamus IV, trudging through a ferocious sand storm & no looks like being captured.
I think it’s another Globtol but who knows?
Always makes me laugh when Daleks fail a mission don’t they understand it will lead to there extermination they should have gone after Billy, maybe the Daleks were having a bad day lol.
I like Elaine she’s definitely compainion material, brave, sassy & strong minded all great qualities the Doctor looks for.
I found those scenes with Jack & Nina distressing as you could feel Ninas heart breaking that the Jack she knew has gone, brilliant piece of character drama this Tim you really do write great personalities to your characters.
Great stuff, i can’t wait to read chapter 10.

Hello Simon! Glad you’ve enjoyed the tension in this chapter, especially with Billy’s adventure from escaping Daleks and getting onto Yondamus IV before trudging through a sandstorm. Billy’s so determined to rescue Nyssa that he doesn’t realise what he’s getting himself into. Will he be a prisoner or saved in the next chapter. Interesting you think it’s a Globtol Ferroca over Billy’s body at the end of this chapter. Does this remind of you of ‘Star Wars’ at all? 😀
Yes I enjoyed it when the Daleks failed in their mission and get destroyed by other Daleks for their failure. They’re so single-minded in their goals that they’ll go to any lengths to destroy their enemies. Glad I made you laugh with those moments in the story.
I’m pleased you like Elaine in this story. Interesting that you find she’d make good companion material, being sassy, brave and strong-minded. She might end up as a companion. Who knows? Depends upon the outcome of this story.
Sorry you found the scenes with Jack and Nina distressing. It is a shock when Jack’s become a Dwaxi and is no longer the Jack that Nina knew. Were you shocked by what the Dwaxi with converting people into one of them? How do you think they do it then? What’s it all about?

I think the Dwaxi use a parasite to control there victins which is connected Globtol Feroca maybe there younglings?, or did someone buy a second had mind probe off EBay Gallifrey only one owner very good condition lol.
Yes Billys collapsing reminds me of Empire the scene were Han Solo rescues Luke from the artic snoe storm lol.

Interesting theory of yours about the Dwaxi using parasites to control their victims. I think you’ll find out the truth about the Dwaxi in the next chapter with Nyssa and Nina.
The Globtol Ferroca were actually pets of the Yondamons on Yondamus IV. So I don’t think there’s a connection with the Dwaxi and the Globtols there.
I laughed when you said someone bought a second hand mind probe from E-bay Gallifrey. 😀
Interesting that Billy’s collapse in the desert reminded you of ‘Empire’ with Han Solo rescuing Luke. Let’s hope that Billy’s rescuer is somebody good then.
