2 Quick ‘Muppets’ Reviews – ‘Pig’s in a Blackout’ + ‘Too Hot to Handler’ (The Muppets) (2015-16)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I missed a week of seeing an episode of ‘The Muppets’ 2015 series on Disney+ lately. So I decided to watch two episodes for this week to make up for that. I’ve seen the seventh and eighth episodes of ‘The Muppets’ 2015 series. I greatly enjoyed them, finding the storytelling and comedy entertaining.

‘PIG’S IN A BLACKOUT’

In ‘Pig’s In A Blackout’, incidents take place at the Muppets’ studio for ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy’. This includes Miss Piggy getting stuck in a lift that malfunctions going up and down. Fozzie Bear also falls into the lift shaft! 😀 Patrick Dempsey also cancels his guest appearance on ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy’.

This is from contracting poison ivy. Whether he met Poison Ivy in ‘Batman & Robin’, I don’t know. 😀 Kermit gets stressed out by all this and is advised by Miss Piggy and his new girlfriend Denise to go to a local spa. Once there, Kermit has a really hard time relaxing when he encounters Jason Bateman. 😐

Jason Bateman is an actor, director and producer that I’m sure is very popular in the USA. 😀 I don’t know why Jason Bateman is there. Shouldn’t he be trying to get stress-free like Kermit is trying to do here? Jason also keeps barraging Kermit for his help when he’s directing his daughter’s school play.

Whilst Kermit’s away, Scooter fills in for him, which leads to some incidents like the air conditioner breaking down and power cuts being caused. Scooter considers giving up his new managerial role but Gonzo talks him out of it. Interesting that Gonzo encourages Scooter not to give up in his role. 😐

I thought Gonzo was jealous about Scooter being chosen by Kermit and not him. Sam the Eagle also tries to find common ground with Janice, which ends up being embarrassing. There’s a special guest appearance of Pentatonix, the a cappella group which my Dad recognised and has Christmas CDs of!

‘TOO HOT TO HANDLER’

In ‘Too Hot to Handler’, Scooter develops a crush on Chelsea Handler who appears on ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy’. Chelsea Handler is a comedian, actress, writer, TV host, producer, activist, etc. I’m sure she’s very popular in America and I admit she does look pretty hot in the ‘Muppets’ episode she did.

Scooter manages to get his date with Chelsea, but he finds her a little too much to handle. I find it funny when Scooter receives a bunch of ‘thank you’ flowers from Chelsea. Shouldn’t that have been the other way round? Scooter giving flowers to Chelsea? Intriguing she’d be interested in Scooter. 😀

Elsewhere, a double date takes place. Kermit and Denise are with Fozzie and Becky (played by Riki Lindhome). Kermit thinks that Becky might’ve cheated during a history trivia quiz. She asks Denise what he should do about it and whether he should tell Fozzie, but Denise says he shouldn’t interfere.

Unfortunately, Kermit does interfere when he tries to tell Fozzie that Becky cheated during the quiz. But Becky says she was buying something off from eBay for Fozzie. This causes a rift between Kermit and Fozzie. It’s amusing when Fozzie keeps openly insulting Kermit for judging Becky’s actions in this.

I like how Kermit and Fozzie patch things up by the end of the episode. Kermit is clearly concerned for his friend, especially when Fozzie and Becky were considering sharing a place together. But Fozzie later reveals to Kermit that he’s not ready for that yet. I wonder if the relationship will last. 😀

It was nice to get into watching these ‘Muppet’ episodes again. I’m really enjoying the 2015 ‘Muppets’ series and I hope I’ll be able to watch the next one for next week. I’m looking forward to enjoying ‘The Muppets’ 2015 series as we go into Christmas before the year 2020 reaches its end. 😀

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
