It’s Day 2 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2016.
What do Marty McFly and the year 2015 have in common?!
‘Back to the Future, Part II’ of course! I love the ‘Back to the Future’ movie trilogy with Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown. But one thing that disappointed me was that the second film of the trilogy got it wrong with predicting the year 2015! No flying cars around!!
This video today is one of two ‘Back to the Future’ videos that focuses on what ‘Back to the Future, Part II’ got right and wrong about 2015. It’s produced by China Uncensored and is presented by Chris Chappell and Matt Gnaizda. The two videos themselves are quite tongue-in-cheek about the subject.
I chose this video for today as I found it the most amusing out of the two. Also it’s true to the fact that the 2015 in ‘Back to the Future, Part II’ doesn’t match to the real 2015. Although the 10 things mentioned in this video doesn’t quite match to what I would’ve chosen to ‘what they’ve got wrong’.
I agree with the flying cars, the lawyers and the fashion. But the Elijah Wood bit was a little silly and too obvious for me. Also, people still use newspapers in today’s society. Yes whilst people rely on the Internet to read the news, there’s still a small group of people who do look to newspapers for news.
The ‘10 Things Back to the Future 2 Got Wrong’ video is an enjoyable insight on how the 2015 in ‘Back to the Future, Part II’ compares to today. Whether you agree or not, we don’t have the flying cars, hoverboards or hydrated pizzas we’d like to have today. But maybe we’ll have them someday.
