Season 8 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Jon Pertwee on Blu-ray #5

In memory of Damaris Hayman

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 8 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Jon Pertwee comes to a close with ‘The Dæmons’, a five-part story by producer Barry Letts and writer Robert Sloman (under the pseudonym of ‘Guy Leopold’). The Doctor, Jo and U.N.I.T. visit the village of Devil’s End (played by Aldbourne village in Wiltshire) where the Master deals with black magic and summons Azal, last of the Dæmons.

Like ‘Colony In Space’, it’s been a while since I reviewed ‘The Dæmons’ back in 2015 on its 2012 two-disc DVD release. I’ve updated my review with new thoughts on the story from watching it on the Blu-ray. I’ve enjoyed watching the new Blu-ray special features for ‘The Dæmons’, including the ‘Behind the Sofa’ item with Katy Manning and Stewart Bevan, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding, and Anjli Mohindra and Sacha Dhawan, as well as the ‘Devil’s Weekend’ feature where Katy Manning and John Levene get to return to Aldbourne village in Wiltshire.

Please feel free to check out; read and comment on my updated review for ‘The Dæmons’ by clicking on the link for it. This contains a review on the TV story as well as a brand-new review on the novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who and the Dæmons’, written and read by Barry Letts.

You can purchase ‘Doctor Who – The Collection – Season 8’ on Blu-ray either from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com.

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂
