Week 33 – ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ UPDATED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s New Year’s Eve today and it’s time to revisit one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ audio anthologies from Big Finish. This is ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa. This audio anthology was released in December 2010. I’m very pleased to be revisiting ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’ for ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2022 to January 2023.

There are four stories included in this audio anthology. There’s ‘The Demons of Red Lodge’ by Jason Arnopp, ‘The Entropy Composition’ by Rick Briggs, ‘Doing Time’ by William Gallagher, and ‘Special Features’ by John Dorney. I’ve also reviewed ‘The Devil’s Whisper’, which is the central play in the ‘Special Features’ episode. All four stories have been enjoyable to listen to and Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton are great to listen to as the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa. The special guest stars are good too, including James Fleet, Susan Kyd and Joanna Munro.

Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my updated review on ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’ as well as updated reviews on ‘The Devil’s Whisper’ (There are two reviews on the audio play) by clicking on the link for them. You can purchase ‘The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories’ from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or the Big Finish website.

Enjoy! 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for my updated reviews on the stories featured in the Big Finish book anthology called ‘Short Trips: Transmissions’, including an updated review on ‘Tweaker’, featuring the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa.

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
