    Hi vouax.

Thank you for your comments. I’m very pleased you enjoy using my ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ on my blog. I do take pleasure in creating them and I’m glad they’ve become popular these days.

I do try my best to keep updating these timelines now and again with new stories coming in. But it’s not easy as I don’t read a lot of the comics and books or listen to every audio story that comes in. I do welcome any suggestions to add to these timelines, as it helps me since I can’t keep track of everything that goes on in these timelines.

Please feel free to add any more suggestions to stories in each timeline and please let me know where you think they would take place.

    Thanks.

    Tim. 🙂

Me again. Hi. I think the comic time and time would be better around the beginning audio, as the flashback scene with the first doctor takes place before he & Susan leave Gallifrey. Of course it being a flashback it could go anywhere. Now the alternative future of the first doctor could take place before the An unearthly child, so I can see why you would put it where you did.

Hi Omega. Nice to hear from you again.

I’m not really a comics reader and haven’t actually read ‘Time and Time Again’. I was relying on the placement of the story given by eyespider. I have checked eyespider’s version of the First Doctor’s timeline and I can see there are two placements for it. One for the flashback before ‘The Beginning’ and another for before ‘An Unearthly Child’.

I’ll put the two placements of the comic story in the timeline for now for both the First Doctor and Susan. Hopefully I’ll get round to read ‘Time and Time Again’ someday.

      Many thanks.

      Tim. 🙂

“Time & Time Again” features several scenes across the Doctor’s timeline. One of them features the First Doctor and Susan on the run on Gallifrey (basically, right before “The Beginning). The other features the First Doctor on Earth (Susan off-screen) sometime before “An Unearthly Child.”

Hi, Tim! Thanks for all your work on these timelines, they’re a wonderful resource. I recently finished Men of War, the BBC audiobook with the First Doctor, Steven and Sara, and thought I’d drop a line. I’d recommend moving it to just before The Sontarans, instead of just after, as Men of War refers to their situation with the Daleks the way the earlier Companion Chronicles do, but The Sontarans is basically designed to lead directly into “Volcano.” Having heard them both recently, it plays out better that way. I certainly understand putting newly-releases stuff at the end of the list, but unless something gets released in the future that’s very specific about it, I’d expect most stories with this trio to come before The Sontarans now.

      Hi Tim!

Many thanks for your helpful suggestion of moving ‘Men of War’ before ‘The Sontarans’. I’ve done the same for Steven and Sara’s timelines as well as the First Doctor’s timeline.

I really need to get into listening to ‘The Sontarans’ as I have that already on CD. I hope I will hear it someday as it sounds like it’s a very good story.

I’m glad you appreciate the reasoning behind why I place the latest stories of a certain team in ‘Doctor Who’ at the end of a list. I do welcome alternative suggestions to stories that are set during a specific point in one of the Doctor’s timelines. And yeah, placing ‘Men of War’ before ‘The Sontarans’ makes sense with the latter leading directly into the second half of ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’. Hopefully I’ll do the same for future stories with the First Doctor, Steven and Sara when they come out either by the BBC or Big Finish by placing them before ‘The Sontarans’ rather than after it..

Very pleased you enjoy my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines and find them very useful.

From one Tim to another – thanks!

      Tim. 🙂

      Hi Andrew.

      Apologies for my late reply.

I’ve added ‘Campaign’ by Jim Mortimore to the First Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara’s timeline. I’ve placed the story after the latest ‘Fifth Doctor Adventure’ by Big Finish with David Bradley.

      Best wishes,

      Tim. 🙂

      Hi Robert.

Thanks for your insight into this. I’ve not heard ‘The Phoenicians’ and ‘Return to Skaro’ yet. Eyespider also seem to have the First Doctor Adventures matched to how I list them in the order of when they were released by Big Finish.

I’ll keep your suggestion in mind when it comes to hearing more First Doctor Adventures, which I’d like to do soon.

      Tim. 🙂

        Hi Robert & Tim,
I just listened to this and Ian does have his watch, and he did lose his watch a couple of stories earlier, but of course it could be a new one. The story does not mention any of the earlier stories except the Daleks TV story so it could easily be set earlier than the first 3 1st Doctor box sets. Not listened to the second story in this set yet so I’ll see if that narrows it down at all.

To follow up on my previous message, I have listened to all of these and the jury is still out, in the Phoenicians Ian says it’s been 4 months since they left their time, and in Last of the Romanovs, which follows on from Return to Skaro, Susan mentions it’s been several months since Ian and Barbara joined the Tardis. The only anomaly is Ian has his watch back…

Hi Tim, thanks for all your work on these timelines, they are really great.
I noticed you are missing the River Song story An Unearthly Woman from this First Doctor Timeline, which I probably sits before Hunters of Earth.

    Hi Tim,
I noticed you have these in reverse order to their release:
The Guardian of the Solar System (Audio) – BFAB**
The Drowned World (Audio) – BFAB**
    Home Truths (Audio) – BFAB**

I think it should be this order as they follow on from each other:
    Home Truths (Audio) – BFAB**
The Drowned World (Audio) – BFAB**
The Guardian of the Solar System (Audio) – BFAB**

      Hi Neil.

Yeah, this is where it gets confusing.

The Sara Kingdom trilogy is in the correct order of

*The Guardian of the Solar System (Audio) – BFAB**
*The Drowned World (Audio) – BFAB**
      *Home Truths (Audio) – BFAB**

but it’s from the Doctor’s point of view. This is confirmed on Sara Kingdom’s tardis wiki page and according to Eyespider.

It’s when Sara does the narration/the framing story that it’s from

      Home Truths (Audio) – BFAB**
The Drowned World (Audio) – BFAB**
The Guardian of the Solar System (Audio) – BFAB**

I’ll have to hear this trilogy to be sure, but I believe that’s the case and I think it’s how Simon Guerrier presented the trilogy.

Thanks for checking this with me.

      Tim. 🙂

When I listened to these I did it in the order you have on here, and i noticed the framing story was backwards, it was only afterwards that I checked the release dates and thought it made more sense that way round. I may have not picked up on it but the actual stories from the Doctor’s point of view did not appear to be related so I am not sure how it’s possible to say what order they come in during Sara Kingdom’s time in Tardis. I tend to listen whilst I’m driving so it’s possible I didn’t pick up on a reference which firmly placed them.

Morning Tim. I couldn’t find a thread on DU for my suggestion for this timeline so I’ll post it here.

‘Farewell, Great Macedon’ and ‘The Yellow Arc of Fragrance’ are in the order that I have shown you on the box set they are in, not the order you have them in the timeline.

      Hi WF92,

There was an explanation on the now deceased ‘History of the Doctor’ link above and according to Eyespider and TARDIS Wiki – https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Farewell,_Great_Macedon_(audio_story) – ‘The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance’ takes place before ‘Farewell, Great Macedon’, as it mentions the events of both, but is explicitly set immediately after ‘Farewell, Great Macedon’. I will need to hear the stories to be sure, but I’m following by that placement for now.

Here’s the DU forum link to the First Doctor’s timeline in case you couldn’t find it – https://notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/thread/108/1-first-doctors-timeline

The Masters of Luxor establishes that Farewell Great Macedon was the adventure immediately proceeding it, but it also references The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance. So Farewell Great Macedon is immediately before Masters of Luxor and Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance is some time before both of them.

      Hi Suratay from Germany.

Thanks for mentioning about ‘Home Again, Home Again’. I’ll add it to the timelines for the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan.

      Many thanks,

      Tim 🙂

Home Again, Home Again, according to the author themselves is supposed to be placed between Planet of Giants and The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

Hi, any chance you might add some of the unofficial charity anthologies to these timelines? (Perfect Timing, Perfect Timing 2, Missing Pieces, LifeDeath, Shelf Life, Time Shadows 1 and 2, Unbound, Walking in Eternity, The Cat Who Walked through Time etc etc)
    Thanks,
    Joel

      Hi Adam,

I’ve added ‘The Outlaws’ and ‘The Miniaturist’ to the First Doctor and Dodo’s timelines. I’ve also added ‘The Outlaws’ to the Monk’s timeline.

      Tim 🙂
