Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For the past three weeks in January, my parents and I have been checking out ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy on the big screen at Showcase Cinema in Nantgarw near Cardiff. We’ve greatly enjoyed ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’, ‘The Two Towers’ and ‘The Return of the King’ at the cinema. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Jesus of Nazareth’ & ‘The Miracle Maker’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As it’s Good Friday tomorrow, it’s a good time to revisit two dramatised productions of the story of Jesus Christ and the wonderful miracles he performed. The two productions of Jesus’ story that I’ve reviewed include the 1977 TV mini-series ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, starring Robert Powell as Jesus, and the 1999/2000 animated film ‘The Miracle Maker’, featuring Ralph Fiennes as the voice of Jesus. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

A happy Good Friday to you all! Today, I’m sharing my review on ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, a 1977 TV dramatisation on the Biblical story of Jesus Christ, directed by Franco Zeffirelli and featuring a stellar cast led by Robert Powell as Jesus. I used to watch ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ as a kid at around Christmas and Easter time. Continue reading

‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC Radio Series UPDATED

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

At last! After sharing ‘The Lord of the Rings: Comedy Version’ in my 2021 advent calendar last December, I’ve finished updating my reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC radio series set in the world of Middle-Earth! I’ve enjoyed revisiting this radio series and updating my reviews on the three volumes. The ‘LOTR’ radio series stars Ian Holm as Frodo Baggins, Michael Horden as Gandalf, Robert Stephens as Aragorn, John Le Mesurier as Bilbo Baggins, Peter Woodthorpe as Gollum and Bill Nighy as Samwise Gamgee. Revisiting ‘The Hobbit’/’The Lord of the Rings’ on Blu-ray

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve had a chance to check out ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films again, set in the world of Middle-Earth. I’m planning to do a ‘LOTR’-styled Advent Calendar for my blog this year with a comedic edge to it. I also hope to make a start on updating my reviews on the ‘LOTR’ radio series once I’ve sorted out my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews for this year. I also hope to see the new ‘LOTR’ TV series on Amazon Prime Video soon. Continue reading

Sarah Sutton’s Favourite Films

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ is coming up this Saturday, I thought I’d share with you two reviews I’ve done on two films which are Sarah Sutton (Nyssa in ‘Doctor Who’)’s favourites. There’s my review on the Disney/Pixar film ‘Ratatouille’, which I saw on DVD last Saturday. I cooked a lasagne meal for me and my parents, based on Sarah Sutton’s recipe in ‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ by Gary Downie, which we had while watching the film. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve been revisiting ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films by director Peter Jackson, set in the world of Middle-Earth. This is before I read and review ‘The Hobbit’ book by J. R. R. Tolkien and hopefully before I update my current reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC radio series. Continue reading

Cinema Experience – ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

‘The Lord of the Rings’!!!

Who am I to argue? ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is one of the best movie trilogies ever made in the history of cinema. It’s well-directed by Peter Jackson, with strong characters and amazing worlds in Middle-Earth, based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Without a doubt, it’s the most successful of film trilogies.
